Stewart Krohn
Stewart Krohn is a Belizean television executive and journalist. He is the general manager of Great Belize Television, a subsidiary of Great Belize Productions, Ltd. Great Belize Krohn formed Great Belize Productions, a video and distribution company, in 1982. GBP would eventually grow to produce a number of informative documentaries about Belize. He applied for and received a television license in 1991, forming what is now Channel 5. Today, Krohn serves as News Director, Producer and GM of Channel 5. On occasion he also serves as a reporter, particularly on news of interest to the country. Krohn has been honored regionally and internationally for his work. Great Belize Television
Great Belize Television, or as it is locally known, Channel 5, is a Belize City-based local television station established in December 1991. Channel 5 airs mostly American and Caribbean programs, as well as a variety of locally produced programs. It is a subsidiary of Great Belize Productions, a local production company established in 1982. Channel 5 is affiliated with the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and its subsidiary the Caribbean Media Corporation. Channel 5 has produced such popular programs as "Lauren Da Mawnin", "The Andy Palacio Show" and most recently Karaoke Television. The Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) founded in 1970 is a non-profit association of public service and commercial broadcasters in the Caribbean. Its secretariat is based in Barbados. Beginning in the mid-1980s, the CBU created several regionally syndicated programmes including '' CaribScope'', ''Caribbean Newsline'', '' Caribbean News Review'', '' Caribbean Business Weekly'', ''Talk Caribbean'', the ''Caribbean Song Festival'', ''Riddim Express'' and the ''CaribVision'' television news exchange, among other programmes.
