Stevie-Lee Thompson
Stevie-Lee Thompson (born 23 March 1992) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. Early life and state football Thompson was born in Brisbane but was raised in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, from age 4, not returning to Brisbane with her family until age 11. She was a star in touch rugby before suffering through a car crash; after that, she picked up Australian rules football. In 2015, after moving to Darwin, she started playing the game with the Wanderers Football Club in the local Northern Territory Football League (NTFL). From 2018, Thompson represented NT Thunder in the VFL Women's (VFLW), kicking 5 goals in 10 games for the club over two seasons. Carrara Stadium (known commercially as Metricon Stadium) is a stadium on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, located in the suburb of Carrara. The stadium is primarily used for Australian rules football, serving as the home ground of the Gold Coast Suns, who compete in the Australian Football League. The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. VFL Women's (VFLW) is the major state-level women's Australian rules football league in Victoria. The league initially comprised the six premier division clubs and the top four division 1 clubs from the now-defunct Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL), and has since evolved into what is also the second primary competition for AFL Women's (AFLW) clubs in Victoria. Northern Territory Football Club, nicknamed NT Thunder, was a Northern Territory-based Australian rules football club that competed in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) between 2011 and 2019.
