Steven Duffy
Steven Duffy (born 16 April 1980 in West Kilbride, Scotland) is a former Scotland Club XV international rugby union footballer who played at Centre. He played for Glasgow Warriors. Amateur career Duffy started out with Ardrossan Academicals. He played for Glasgow District U18s at provincial level. He then moved on to Glasgow Hawks. He captained the Hawks in 2006-07 and in 2008-09. Professional career Duffy joined Glasgow Warriors as one of their academy players in season 2004-05. He played for Glasgow Warriors against Edinburgh Rugby in a pre-season match in 2005-06 season. Glasgow lost the match 7 - 24. He played for Glasgow Warriors again in their pre-season match against Newcastle Falcons Academy in that same season. He scored a try in the match with the Warriors running out 50 - 5 winners. West Kilbride ( gd, Cille Bhrìghde an Iar) is a village and historic parish in North Ayrshire, Scotland, on the west coast by the Firth of Clyde, looking across the Firth of Clyde to Goat Fell and the Isle of Arran. Edinburgh Rugby (formerly Edinburgh Reivers, Edinburgh Gunners) is one of the two professional rugby union teams from Scotland. Ardrossan Academicals Players
Ardrossan (; ) is a town on the North Ayrshire coast in southwestern Scotland. The town has a population of 10,670 and forms part of a conurbation with Saltcoats and Stevenston known as the ' Three Towns'. Ardrossan is located on the east shore of the Firth of Clyde. Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team that play in Premiership Rugby, England's highest division of rugby union. The club was established in 1877 as the Gosforth Football Club. Around 1882 the club merged with the Northumberland Football Club and briefly assumed their name until 1887. In 1990, the name was changed to Newcastle Gosforth and the club began to play at Kingston Park stadium in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. In 1996, following the start of professionalism the club briefly adopted the name Newcastle Rugby Club before adopting its current name. Newcastle has won 5 major titles. 2005–06 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2005-06 season is the tenth in the history of the Glasgow Warriors as a professional side. Since the professional side began in 1996 it had used a warrior logo; with a warrior clutching a rugby ball in one hand - and in the other a Scottish targe ordained with a long steel spike originating from its central boss. The warrior is wearing a simple Spangenhelm conical peaked nasal helmet illustrating an early warrior from the Kingdom of Strathclyde. The warrior logo was formalised into Glasgow's name from this season onwards. The team was now officially known as Glasgow Warriors and formally competed as such.
