Steve Webster (bassist)
Steve Webster is a Canadian bassist, record producer, arranger, audio engineer and composer. A multiple Juno Award nominee and winner, Webster's career spans over 3 decades of music production and performance. Recent accomplishments include Juno Award nominations for Producer of the Year and Jazz Vocal Album of the Year for Emilie-Claire Barlow's album Clear Day. A founding member of Canada's The Parachute Club, Webster was part of Toronto's vibrant music scene in the '80s and '90s, working often at Hamilton's Grant Avenue Studio, home to Daniel Lanois and David Bottrill. Webster has worked with other notable producers Michael Beinhorn and Rick Parashar. Webster recorded and performed live with Canadian stars Alannah Myles, Dalbello and Carole Pope. He also played bass on Billy Idol's ''Rebel Yell'' album and subsequent 1984 tour. John Gilbert Layton (July 18, 1950 – August 22, 2011) was a Canadian academic and politician who served as the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) from 2003 to 2011 and leader of the Official Opposition in 2011. ''Rebel Yell'' is the second studio album by English rock singer Billy Idol, released on 10 November 1983 by Chrysalis Records. After the release of his 1982 eponymous debut album, Idol continued his collaboration with producer Keith Forsey and multi-instrumentalist Steve Stevens. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Initially recording without a drummer, utilizing only the electronic drum machines LinnDrum and Roland TR-808, Forsey and Stevens later decided to hire Thommy Price to play drums on some of the songs. Musically, ''Rebel Yell'' is a rock album with a strong influence of new wave music. The cover sleeve and images were shot by Brian Griffin. Rakesh "Rick" Parashar (December 13, 1963 – August 14, 2014) was an American record producer, recording engineer and musician. Along with his brother Raj, he founded London Bridge Studio in Seattle, Washington, in 1985. During his career he worked with and helped develop many local artists, including Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Brandi Carlile and My Goodness. Helmed by Parashar's production and recording services, London Bridge became the center of the Seattle music scene. Michael Beinhorn is a North American record producer, composer, author and musician. He has produced albums for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Hole, Violent Femmes and Marilyn Manson. Daniel Roland Lanois ( , ; born September 19, 1951) is a Canadian record producer, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter.
