Steve Ward (boxer)
Stephen Ward (born 12 August 1956) is an English former professional boxer, notable for having held the accolade of being the oldest professional boxer in the world. He was first confirmed as such in 2011 at age 54. Born in Nottingham and now living in nearby Mansfield, in 2012 Ward was given a civic reception by the mayor of Nottingham at Nottingham Council House to recognise his achievements. Fighting career Ward boxed as an amateur from 1967–1977. His original professional boxing career lasted from 1977 to 1987. After an industrial accident injured his foot leading to complex regional pain syndrome, he was treated by a Hong Kong surgeon recommended by a fellow martial artist when training at a gym. He then resumed boxing training including running for up to and made a comeback in 2010 against Gregg Scott-Briggs to win the Midlands Area Cruiserweight belt. Heavyweight is a weight class in combat sports and professional wrestling. Notts TV
Notts TV is a British commercial local television channel which broadcasts to the City of Nottingham and the surrounding areas. Notts TV launched on 27 May 2014 on Freeview channel 8 followed by Virgin channel 159. In July 2015, the channel also became available on Sky channel 117. Notts TV also has an extensive video on demand library available on its website with most programming becoming available shortly after broadcast. In April 2016, Notts TV moved to channel 7 on Freeview (the number previously occupied by BBC Three which closed as a linear channel the month before). Andreas Sidon (born 4 February 1963) is a German professional boxer. A professional since 1999, he has faced former world champions and contenders Nikolay Valuev, Odlanier Solis, Danny Williams, and Andrezj Wawrzyk. Debut Sidon turned professional in March 1999 in the Buergerzentrum Chorweiler, Cologne, Germany. In his debut Sidon stopped Zoltan Nagymihaly in the second round of a four round contest. German title Sidon faced Nikolay Valuev in only his second fight. Sidon suffered two standing eight-counts in the first round. Valuev also dominated the second round. European Boxing Federation
The European Boxing Federation (EBF) is a boxing governing body and sanctioning organisation created in 2005. Although the organisation is called European it lists its title holders as world champions. The organisation is based mainly in the United Kingdom and is separate for the British Boxing Board of Control which governs and sanctions mainstream boxing in the UK. Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is any of several painful conditions that are characterized by a continuing (spontaneous and/or evoked) regional pain that is seemingly disproportionate in time or degree to the usual course of any known trauma or other lesion. Usually starting in a limb, it manifests as extreme pain, swelling, limited range of motion, and changes to the skin and bones.
