Steve Walwyn
Stephen Martin Walwyn (born 8 June 1956 in Southam, Warwickshire) is an English rhythm and blues guitarist, best known for his playing with Dr. Feelgood, but who has also played with Eddie and the Hot Rods, Steve Marriott and the DTs, the Roger Chapman Band, the Big Town Playboys and his own band Steve Walwyn and Friends. Steve Walwyn (after 32 years in Dr Feelgood) then joined up with Horace Panter (42 years in The Specials) and Ted Duggan from Badfinger, The Beat and The Selecter in The Dirt Road Band, touring from 5th March 2022. Early career Walwyn states his inspiration to become a guitarist was Rory Gallagher's album '' Live in Europe''. Although he did not start to learn to play the guitar until he was 17, he formed his first band, Hands Off, whilst still at school. Southam
Southam () is a market town and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district of Warwickshire, England. Southam is situated on the River Stowe (called 'The Brook' by many locals), which flows from Napton-on-the-Hill and joins Warwickshire's River Itchen at Stoneythorpe, just outside the town. In the 2021 census, the population of Southam was 8,114, increased from 6,567 in 2011. History Southam was a Royal manor until AD 998, when Ethelred the Unready granted it to Earl Leofwine. Cupid's Inspiration
Cupid's Inspiration are a British pop group, active with various line up changes since 1968 when they had two hit singles. The band are currently on the road with original drummer Roger Gray re-joining the veteran line up of Paul Shanahan and Bob Poole with Paul Thomas on vocals. Career Originally from Stamford, Lincolnshire, the band were at first called The EndsLarkin C., ''Virgin Encyclopedia of Sixties Music'', (Muze UK Ltd, 1997), , p. 137 (no relation to The End). The group scored two Top 40 hits on the UK Singles Chart in 1968. "Yesterday Has Gone", originally a hit for Little Anthony and The Imperials, reached No. 4 in July of that year, and "My World" went to No. 33 in October. Lymphoma
Lymphoma is a group of blood and lymph tumors that develop from lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). In current usage the name usually refers to just the cancerous versions rather than all such tumours. The Town & Country Club
The O Forum Kentish Town is a concert venue in Kentish Town, London, England owned by MAMA & Company, and originally built in 1934. History The venue was built in 1934 and was originally used as an art deco cinema. After the cinema was closed, the venue re-opened as an Irish dance hall. In the 1980s, it changed directions from a bingo hall, to dance hall then to a live music venue under the name Town & Country Club. In 1993, Mean Fiddler purchased the venue and renamed it the London Forum. The final show at the T&C was Van Morrison on 21 March 1993. In 2007, MAMA & Company purchased the Forum from Mean Fiddler and spent £1.5 million on renovations, and increasing the capacity to 2,300. In 2015, the venue was acquired by Live Nation, and re-branded as O2 Forum Kentish Town, as part of the O2 Academy Group. Humble Pie (band)
Humble Pie are an English rock band formed by guitarist and singer Steve Marriott in Moreton, Essex, in 1969. They are known as one of the first supergroups of the late 1960s and found success in the early 1970s with songs such as " Black Coffee", " 30 Days in the Hole", " I Don't Need No Doctor", " Hot 'n' Nasty" and " Natural Born Bugie". Small Faces
Small Faces were an English rock band from London, founded in 1965. The group originally consisted of Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones and Jimmy Winston, with Ian McLagan replacing Winston as the band's keyboardist in 1966. The band was one of the most acclaimed and influential mod groups of the 1960s, recording hit songs such as "Itchycoo Park", " Lazy Sunday", " All or Nothing" and "Tin Soldier", as well as their concept album ''Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake''. Brian Helicopter is the stage name of Gareth Holder (born 27 June 1958, Leamington Spa), an English musician, based in the United States. He is best known for playing bass guitar for the UK punk rock band The Shapes. He also played for many other bands, the most notable being the NWOBHM bands Rogue Male and HellsBelles. For a short time in the early 1980s, he was also a member of British R&B band The Mosquitos, with guitarist Steve Walwyn of Dr. Feelgood and Eddie and the Hot Rods, and can be seen on the cover of The Mosquitos only single "Somethin' Outta Nothin'".
