Steve Peters (Ontario Politician)
Stephen J. "Steve" Peters (born 19 January 1963) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada, who served as a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1999 to 2011. He served as Speaker from 2007 to 2011 and was a Cabinet Minister in the government of Dalton McGuinty. Background Peters was born in St. Thomas, in the southwestern section of Ontario. Both of his parents were the children of Ukrainian immigrants. He was educated at the University of Western Ontario, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1985. Peters subsequently worked as an archivist at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, and at Alma College in St. Thomas. He also worked as a stock clerk at an A&P food store in St. Thomas. Steve Peters (Manitoba Politician)
Stephen Peters (December 27, 1912 – November 29, 1976) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Manitoba legislature from 1958 to 1966, as a representative of the social-democratic Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and its successor, the New Democratic Party. Peters was born in Winnipeg. The son of John Peters, he was educated at Winnipeg and the neighbouring suburb of Elmwood (later a part of the amalgamated city of Winnipeg), and worked for several years as a mechanic. Peters served in the Canadian military during World War II. He worked for Canada Packers, retiring in 1975. In 1939, Peters married Doris Marjorie Greustad. He was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1958 provincial election, defeating incumbent Liberal-Progressive MLA Alexander Turk in the newly created riding of Elmwood, by a margin of about 800 votes. Steve Peters (born 1961) is an American independent game designer and experience designer specializing in alternate reality games and transmedia storytelling. Steve was Chief Creative Officer at No Mimes Media, an Alternate Reality Game company which he co-founded with Maureen McHugh and Behnam Karbassi in March 2009. Steven Bradley Peters (born November 14, 1962) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher. Peters started playing baseball at age 6 with his older brother Kenny, who would later go on to play college baseball at Seminole State College and Pan American. Peters attended Moore High School where in 1981 he was named ''The Oklahomans State Player of the Year as a pitcher and outfielder. He began his college career at Seminole before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. At Oklahoma, he set a school record by winning 14 games in 1985. This record stood until it was tied in 1994 and broken in 1995 by Mark Redman. Steve Peters (born 5 July 1953) is an English psychiatrist who works in elite sport. He is best known for his work with British Cycling. He has published four books, ''A Path Through the Jungle'' in 2021, ''The Chimp Paradox'' in 2012, ''My Hidden Chimp'' in 2018 and ''The Silent Guides'' in 2018.
