Steve Massey
Steve Massey (born 28 March 1958 in Denton, Lancashire) is an English football manager and former player who played as a striker, mainly for Stockport County and AFC Bournemouth. He was manager of Southern League club Truro City until March 2014 and is currently director of football at Western League Premier Division club Helston Athletic. Career Playing career Massey scored on his league debut for Stockport County in a 2–1 home win over Darlington on 28 February 1975, and went on to make 114 appearances for the club in all competitions before joining Bournemouth in 1978. Signing for Peterborough United in 1981, he made his league debut in a 1–0 win over Mansfield Town on 29 August, and made 20 league appearances before signing for Northampton Town the following year. In 1983, Massey transferred to Hull City for £50,000, before moving on to Cambridge United and then Wrexham, for whom he played in the 1986–87 European Cup Winners' Cup. Denton, Greater Manchester
Denton is a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England, five miles (8 km) east of Manchester city centre. Historically part of Lancashire, it had a population of 36,591 at the 2011 Census. History Toponymy Denton probably derives its name from Dane-town, an etymology supported by other place names in the area such as Danehead-bank and Daneditch-bourne. The word 'Dane' is itself derived from Anglo-Saxon ''denu'', ''dene'', ''daenland'', meaning a valley. So literally Denton means valley town. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions. The Central and South Divisions are at step 3 of the National League System (NLS), and are feeder divisions, mainly to the National League South but also to the National League North. Lee Hodges (footballer Born 1973)
Lee Leslie Hodges (born 4 September 1973) is an English football player and manager who plays for Plymouth Marjon in the South West Peninsula League. He made four appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur and 394 appearances in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle, Wycombe Wanderers, Barnet, Reading and Torquay United. A versatile player, Hodges is capable of playing in defence, midfield and attack. He spent five years as the player-manager of Conference South club Truro City across two spells, first from 2010 to 2013 and again from 2016 to 2018. Conference South
The National League South, formerly Conference South, is one of the second divisions of the National League in England, immediately below the top division National League. Along with National League North, it is in the second level of the National League System, and is the sixth tier overall of the English football league system. The National League South was introduced in 2004 as part of a major restructuring of the National League System. Each year the champion of the league is automatically promoted to the National League. South West Peninsula League
The South West Peninsula League (SWPL) is a football competition in England, which was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League. The league is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall, Devon and West Dorset. The league consists of two Premier Divisions (East and West), which are ranked at Step 6 in the National League System. Until 2019–20, there was a single Premier Division at Step 6, and two divisions at Step 7 (Division One West and Division One East). Subject to applying, receiving the required ground grading and finishing high enough in the league table, one club from each Premier Division can be promoted to the Western League Premier Division each season. South Western Football League
The South Western Football League was an English association football league composed of clubs from Cornwall and west and north Devon. It consisted of a single division at the eleventh overall tier of the English football league system, the seventh and lowest "Step" of the official National League System. The East Cornwall League and Cornwall Combination ranked below the South Western on the overall pyramid, and in turn have feeder leagues of their own. Real Zaragoza, S.A.D. Żurrieq F
Żurrieq ( mt, Iż-Żurrieq ) is a town in the Southern Region of Malta. It is one of the oldest towns in the country, and it has a population of 11,823 inhabitants as of March 2014. The first documentation about it being a parish dates back to 1436 dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. The island of Filfla is administratively a part of the town. The 1986–87 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Ajax in the final against Lokomotive Leipzig. The young Ajax side, which included the likes of Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Dennis Bergkamp, was guided to victory by its coach Johan Cruyff.
