Steve Lamson
Steve Lamson (born March 24, 1971) is an American former professional motocross racer and racing team manager. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1988 to 2007. He is a two-time AMA motocross national champion. Motorcycle racing career Lamson is a native of Orangevale, California where he attended Casa Roble High School. He began competing in the AMA Motocross Championship in 1988. Lamson won the 125cc AMA motocross national championship in 1995 and 1996 as a member of the Honda factory racing team. He competed in his final AMA motocross race in 2007 for career that spanned 20 years, one of the longest in AMA history. Motocross
Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom. History Motocross first evolved in Britain from motorcycle trials competitions, such as the Auto-Cycle Clubs's first quarterly trial in 1909 and the Scottish Six Days Trial that began in 1912. The AMA Motocross Championship (commercially known as Lucas Oil Pro Motocross) is an American motorcycle racing series. The motocross race series was founded and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1972. The series is the major outdoor motocross series in the United States and is sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing and managed by MX Sports Pro Racing. Orangevale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade– Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Casa Roble High School
Casa Roble Fundamental High School is a public high school located in Orangevale, California. It is a part of the San Juan Unified School District with a student body of approximately 1250 students from northern Orangevale and a portion of Citrus Heights. Academic Curriculum Casa Roble uses the 4x4 block schedule in which students have four, 90 minutes classes per term. This allows for one more class per school year versus the normal seven class, full year schedule. To graduate a student must pass the Senior Project and possess a grand total of 280 credits. Under the "Refuse to Fail" program, implemented in 2008 by principal Christopher Klyse, students with failing grades in classes are required to turn in all work and receive mandatory tutoring until their grades are passing. Jeff Emig
Cam Jeffrey Emig (born December 1, 1970) is an American former professional motocross racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1988 to 1999. He was one of the top American motocross racers of the 1990s. During his motorcycle racing career, Emig won four AMA Motocross Championships, an FIM World Supercross title and was a six-time member of the U.S. Motocross des Nations team. He was inducted to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2004. Motorcycle racing career Emig was born in Kansas City, Kansas where he began trail riding on motorcycles with his family. He followed his older brother in taking up the sport of motocross. He was successful as an amateur racer winning four titles at the AMA Amateur Motocross Nationals at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee. Jeremy McGrath (born November 19, 1971) is one of the most popular American Motocross/Supercross champions in the history of the sport, racking up seven Supercross championships. He was most active in the 1990s earning the title the "King of Supercross". McGrath did not start riding motocross until the age of 14 because he spent his younger years riding BMX. This experience helped him revolutionize the way supercross was ridden, employing a technique he learned in BMX allowing him to stay a foot or two lower over jumps by coming in with more speed then soaking up the landing into his body similar to the way you ride BMX. One of his BMX "tricks" during jumps on the supercross track, the most famous of which he called the "Nac Nac", helped spawn the sport of freestyle motocross.
