Stephen Sanders "Steve" Knight (12 May 1935 – 19 January 2013) was an American musician best known as the keyboardist for the rock band Mountain from 1969 until his departure in 1972. Biography Knight was born in New York to artist parents. From 1938–1950 his family lived in Woodstock, New York. In 1950, his father became a professor at Columbia University and moved the family to New York City. In 1952, Knight graduated from high school (New Lincoln School) and enrolled at Columbia later that year. He stayed at Columbia for most of the 1950s (1952–1959) studying art, music and psychology. He earned a B.S. degree majoring in psychology, and had one year of graduate work in psychology. From 1959 to 1968, Knight recorded with or was a member of various bands including the Feenjon Group, the Peacemakers, Devil's Anvil and Wings (not McCartney's group). Stephen Thomas Knight (born December 17, 1966) is an American politician, military veteran and former police officer. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the U.S. representative for California's 25th congressional district from 2015 to 2019. Knight previously represented California's 21st State Senate district from 2012 to 2015 and California's 36th State Assembly district from 2008 through 2012; he also served as Assistant Minority Leader in the California State Assembly from 2010 until 2012. Knight served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1993 and 18 years with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). He was first elected to the Palmdale City Council in 2005. He lost his reelection bid in 2018 to Democrat Katie Hill. Steve Knight (12 July 1973 – 13 January 2019) was an English professional pool player. Knight spent four times representing the European team at the Mosconi Cup and was the winner of the 2000 World Pool League. Career Knight's first major competition was at the 1997 World Pool Masters, reaching the second round of the competition. The following year he reached the quarter-finals of the event. Knight's best result at a world championship was at the 1999 World Professional Pool Championship, reaching the quarter-finals, before losing to Chao Fong-Pang. In 2000, Knight reached the last 16 of the 2000 WPA World Nine-ball Championship, before losing to former champion Kunihiko Takahashi 9–0. Steven Knight (born 1 April 1959) is a British screenwriter, film director and film producer. Knight wrote the screenplays for the films ''Closed Circuit'', '' Dirty Pretty Things'', and ''Eastern Promises'', and also wrote and directed the films '' Locke'' and ''Hummingbird'' (a.k.a. ''Redemption''). Stephen Knight (born 1960 in Swansea, Wales) is a British (Welsh) poet, novelist, theatre director and tutor in creative writing. Biography Knight was born in Britain in 1960, at Swansea. He studied English at Oxford University (Jesus College) and theatre directing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has worked as a theatre director in London, and as a tutor in creative writing in the University of Glamorgan and at Goldsmiths' College in London University. His books of poems include ''Flowering Limbs'' (1993), ''Dream City Cinema'' (1996), ''Sardines'' (2004) and ''The Prince of Wails'' (2012). His novel, ''Mr Schnitzel'', was published in 2000. He received an Eric Gregory Award in 1987 and won the National Poetry Competition in 1992. He won the 2003 Times Literary Supplement, TLS/ Blackwells Poetry Competition for "The Long Way Home". His writing deals with disappointment and decay, albeit with a lightness of touch. References

Stephen Knight is a Labour politician in the United Kingdom who has previously been a member of the London Assembly for the Liberal Democrats. Political career Knight was a councillor in Richmond upon Thames and a past leader of the Liberal Democrat group there. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Deputy Leader with responsibility for finance. He was largely responsible for the rebuilding of Teddington School under the Building Schools for the Future programme.
