Steve Hetzke
Stephen Edward Richard Hetzke (born 3 June 1955 in Marlborough, Wiltshire) is an English former professional footballer. He played as a defender. Career Hetzke began his career with Reading, where he twice won promotion from Division Four, in 1976, and in 1979 as champions. Hetzke broke the record for the youngest player to appear in a competitive match for Reading, aged 16 years and 191 days. He also scored the first goal of the 1980/81 season, when a League Cup match at Northampton was brought forward to the Friday and he put Reading ahead after seven minutes.Biscuits and Royals by David Downs, Fericon Press, Reading, 1986 He later received a testimonial match after leaving for Blackpool in July 1982 for a £12,500 fee, which was settled by a tribunal. Marlborough ( , ) is a market town and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in the England, English Counties of England, county of Wiltshire on the A4 road (England), Old Bath Road, the old main road from London to Bath, Somerset, Bath. The town is on the River Kennet, 24 miles (39 km) north of Salisbury and 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Swindon. The Football League Third Division was the third tier of the English football league system in 1920–21 and again from 1958 until 1992. Layer Road
Layer Road was a Football League stadium in Colchester, England. It was only used for football matches and was the home ground of Colchester United before being replaced by the Colchester Community Stadium. The stadium held spectators and was built in 1907, originally for use by Colchester Town Football Club. Layer Road has often had up to packed into the ground, when Colchester had been on a good FA Cup run, before the capacity was reduced to . The record attendance at Layer Road is for an FA Cup fixture against Reading in November 1948, a match that was abandoned. The ground was also used to host Sudbury Town's FA Cup match against Brentford in 1996, as their Priory Stadium was deemed unfit. One of the unusual features of the ground was at the Layer Road End, where the back of the goal and the netting actually cut back into the stand. Colchester United
Colchester United Football Club is a professional association football club based in the city of Colchester, Essex, England.
