Steve Gibbons (designer)
Steve Gibbons (born 8 October 1956) is a graphic designer and co-founder of the London based design agency Dew Gibbons. Life Stephen John Gibbons was born on 8 October 1956. He was educated at Bedford Modern School and trained at the Royal College of Art where he graduated MA in 1982. In 1982 Gibbons was invited by his tutor at the RCA, Brian Tattersfield, to begin a career at Minale Tattersfield, the agency that Tattersfield had co-founded in 1964 with his partner Marcello Minale. In 1985, Gibbons became a partner in another agency, The Partners, until co-founding Dew Gibbons in 1997 with Shaun Dew. Dew Gibbons was voted UK Design & Branding Consultancy of the Year in 2014 by The Drum with a focus on health and beauty brands. Bedford Modern School
Bedford Modern School (often called BMS) is a Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference independent school in Bedford, England. The school has its origins in Bedford Charity, The Harpur Trust, born from the financial endowment, endowments left by William Harpur, Sir William Harpur in the sixteenth century. BMS comprises a Preparatory school (UK), junior school (ages 6–11) and a senior school (ages 11–18). The school has had four names. In 1873 the school became Bedford Modern School to reflect its modern curriculum, providing an education for the professions. Marcello Minale
Marcello Minale (December 15, 1938 – December 30, 2000) was a world-renowned Italian designer, writer and a former international oarsman. Early life Marcello Minale was born into an Italian naval family in Tripoli in 1938, the son of a colonial administrator and former naval captain who became a local city mayor in Aziziya, Libya. Education and formative influences After studying art and architecture at the Technical Institute of Naples, Minale won his first assignments for an architectural magazine in Milan and for a Scandinavian company in charge of interior design and graphic design in Rome. D&AD
Design and Art Direction (D&AD), formerly known as British Design and Art Direction, is a British educational organisation that was created in 1962 to promote excellence in design and advertising. Its main offices are in Spitalfields in London. It is most famous for its annual awards, the D&AD Pencils. The highest award given by D&AD, the Black Pencil, is not necessarily awarded every year. The Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) is a professional body for designers. It is the only Royal Chartered body of experienced designers. Its membership is multi-disciplinary – representing designers in all design, disciplines including Interior Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Fashion and Textile Design. The Art Directors Club of New York is an organization for art directors in New York City. It was founded in 1920, and has grown as an industry group, promoting art directors' work through exhibitions and awards, including the annual DESI award for design excellence. The Poster Museum at Wilanów ( pl, Muzeum Plakatu w Wilanowie) is the world's oldest poster museum. Founded in 1968, the museum is housed at the Wilanów Palace complex in Warsaw, Poland.
