Steve Evans (darts Player)
Stephen "Steve" Evans (born 7 January 1972) is a former Welsh professional darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation. Career Evans joined the PDC in 2003, and reached the last 32 of the 2004 UK Open, he beats Andy Belton, Dale Pinch & Ian Covill, eventually losing to John MaGowan. He qualified for the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship, losing 0–3 to Steve Beaton in the first round. He also qualified for the 2011 World Championship, again losing 0–3 in the first round to Simon Whitlock. After coming dangerously close to having to pack in the game due to the financial restraints of touring, Steve announced on 21 March 2012 that he has acquired a full sponsor to continue his PDC career. In April, he earned a place in the European Tour Event 1 in Vienna by defeating Ian Jopling and Jamie Lewis in the UK qualifier. 2012 PDC European Tour Event 1
The 2012 Austrian Darts Open was the first of five PDC European Tour events on the 2012 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Arena Nova in Wiener Neustadt near Vienna, Austria, from 27–29 April 2012. Matthew Edgar (born 28 August 1986) is an English darts player currently competing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career 2011 Edgar joined the PDC in 2011, and qualified for the UK Open. He defeated Nigel Heydon, Andy Pearce and Martyn Turner on the way to the last 32, where he lost 5–9 to Andy Boulton. 2012 In January 2012, he entered the Professional Darts Corporation Pro Tour 'Q School' qualifying tournament. On the first day, Edgar lost to Darren Whittingham 6–4 at the final stage. After four days playing in the event in Barnsley, Edgar gained his professional tour card for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. His best results of 2012 came in two UK Open Qualifiers, where he lost in the last 16 to Johnny Haines and Richie Howson respectively. The 2014 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Professional Dart Players Association Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers, and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. This year there were 34 PDC Pro Tour events held – 20 Players Championships, 6 UK Open Qualifiers, and 8 European Tour events. Prize money Prize money for each UK Open Qualifier was increased from £35,000 to £50,000 to match the 2013 Players Championships, which themselves remained unchanged for this year. 2013 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship was the 20th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at the Alexandra Palace, London between 14 December 2012 and 1 January 2013. Adrian Lewis was the defending champion having won the last two editions of the tournament, but was beaten by Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals, thus ending Lewis' 15 match unbeaten run at the World Championship. Phil Taylor aged 52 claimed his 16th and last World Championship title with a 7–4 victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final, despite trailing 0–2 and then 2–4 after six sets. Taylor won five sets in a row for the win. John Henderson (darts Player)
John Henderson (born 4 May 1973) is a Scottish darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Henderson started out in the PDC circuit and played one tournament in Scotland as well as the 2003 UK Open where he lost in the first round, having won his preliminary match. He then qualified for the 2005 BDO World Darts Championship, where he beat Stephen Bunting in the first round before losing in round two to Martin Adams – hitting a record thirteen 180s (for a five-set match) in the 3–2 defeat. Henderson then reached the quarter-finals of the 2005 British Open and the last 32 of the 2005 Winmau World Masters. Henderson reached the final of the 2007 British Open. He beat Tony O'Shea in the quarter finals and Ted Hankey in the semis before losing to Gary Anderson in the final.
