Steve Doran
Steve Doran is an English community organiser, activist and former radio DJ from the University of Nottingham. She is currently fronting a campaign against payday lenders in the UK in conjunction with Movement For Change. She has discussed the issues surrounding payday lending on BBC news, ITV news, Channel 5 News and on Sky News. She recently met with Ed Miliband to discuss proposed policy on payday lending. At the 2006 Student Radio Awards held on 9 November, Steve was announced as the Gold Award winner for Best Female Presenter. On Friday 13 April 2007, Doran presented the Early Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 1, in a slot designed to showcase new talent, and as direct result of her win the previous year of the Student Radio Award. University Of Nottingham
The University of Nottingham is a public university, public research university in Nottingham, United Kingdom. ITV Network
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. Channel 5 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel launched in 1997. It is the fifth national terrestrial channel in the United Kingdom and is owned by Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American media conglomerate Paramount Global, which is grouped under Paramount Networks UK & Australia division. During ownership by the RTL Group, it was branded as Five between 16 September 2002 and 13 February 2011. Sky News
Sky News is a British free-to-air television news channel and organisation. Sky News is distributed via an English-language radio news service, and through online channels. It is owned by Sky Group, a division of Comcast. John Ryley is the head of Sky News, a role he has held since June 2006. Edward Samuel "Ed" Miliband (born 24 December 1969) is a British politician serving as Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero since 2021. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster North since 2005. The Student Radio Association (SRA) is a representative body which supports and acts on behalf of the UK student radio community, comprising radio stations that are associated with or linked to a place of education. It is a not-for-profit organisation, which exists to encourage and facilitate communication between student stations. It was dissolved by Companies House in May 2018, but was reincorporated on 30 August 2019 as the Student Radio Association Ltd Ltd. History The SRA was formed following the liquidation of the National Association of Student Broadcasting (NASB), which was formed as a limited company on 5 August 1988. BBC Radio 1 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day. The station provides alternative genres at night, including electronica, dance, hip hop and indie, while its sister station 1Xtra plays black contemporary music, including hip hop and R&B. Radio 1 also runs two online streams, Radio 1 Dance, dedicated to dance music, and Radio 1 Relax, dedicated to chill-out music; both are available to listen only on BBC Sounds. University Radio Nottingham is the university radio station of the University of Nottingham, England, where it is part of the University of Nottingham Students' Union, Students' Union. During term-time it broadcasts locally on University Park Campus, Nottingham, University Park Campus on 1350 AM and worldwide via its website. It is a multi-award winning station run by the student volunteers from the University of Nottingham. Dartford
Dartford is the principal town in the Borough of Dartford, Kent, England. It is located south-east of Central London and is situated adjacent to the London Borough of Bexley to its west. University Of Nottingham Students' Union
The University of Nottingham Students' Union (often abbreviated as UoNSU ( /ˈjɒnsuː/)) is the students' union at the University of Nottingham, England. It is a representative body that aims to represent students to both the university and the wider community. The Students' Union is housed in the Portland Building on University Park campus, a building shared with some non-student union activities. The union receives a block grant from the university of over £2 million to support its activities, although the union also raises money through income streams such as the Union shop and a bar. All members of the University of Nottingham are automatically members of the Students' Union, unless they use their right to opt out of membership.
