Stephen Chenault is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Troll Lord Games. Career Stephen Chenault and his brother Davis Chenault wanted to publish a 300-page leather bound campaign setting. When Stephen learned that Mac Golden was thinking of publishing a gaming magazine called ''The Seeker'', they formed Troll Lord Games in 1999 with Davis Chenault. They then published a set of "universal" adventures, and they prepared three of them for Gen Con 33: ''After Winter's Dark'' (2000), a 24-page book describing the campaign setting of Erde; ''The Mortality of Green'' (2000), an Erde adventure; ''Vakhund: Into the Unknown'' (2000), an adventure for the campaign setting of Inzae and also the first part of a trilogy. Troll Lord Games
Troll Lord Games is an American publisher of role-playing games (based on fantasy and swords & sorcery themes), ''The Crusader'' magazine and other board/dice/card games. They are best known for the ''Castles & Crusades'' role-playing game. They served as Gary Gygax's primary publisher from 2001–2008, publishing ''Lejendary Adventure'', ''Gygaxian Fantasy Worlds'' and other book lines. History TLG's first published products were a series of adventures designed for the Swords and Sorcery RPG. This RPG was developed by Davis Chenault and Mac Golden. TLG debuted these three adventures, the game system and Stephen Chenault's The After Winter's Dark campaign world at Gencon in 2000. ''Castles & Crusades'' (''C&C'') is a fantasy role-playing game published in 2004 by Troll Lord Games based upon a stripped-down variant of the d20 System by Wizards of the Coast. The game system is designed to emulate the play of earlier editions of the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' game while keeping the unified mechanics of the d20 System. History The game's name comes from the Castle & Crusade Society, founded in the pre-''Dungeons & Dragons'' era by Gary Gygax. The title is in homage to the role-playing industry's birth. Gen Con
Gen Con is the largest tabletop game convention in North America by both attendance and number of events. It features traditional pen-and-paper, board, and card games, including role-playing games, miniatures wargames, live action role-playing games, collectible card games, and strategy games. Gary Gygax
Ernest Gary Gygax ( ; July 27, 1938 – March 4, 2008) was an American game designer and author best known for co-creating the pioneering role-playing game ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') with Dave Arneson. In the 1960s, Gygax created an organization of wargaming clubs and founded the Gen Con gaming convention. In 1971, he helped develop ''Chainmail'', a miniatures wargame based on medieval warfare. He co-founded the company Tactical Studies Rules (TSR, Inc.) with childhood friend Don Kaye in 1973.
