Steve Carson
Steve Carson (born 1968 in Belfast) is an Irish director and producer of television. He is the Head of Multi-Platform Commissioning at BBC Scotland. With his wife, the RTÉ presenter Miriam O'Callaghan, he was co-owner of the very successful television production company Mint Productions, whose work has been amongst the nominees and winners at the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs). Early life and career Carson was born in Belfast where he attended Methodist College and subsequently was an undergraduate at Manchester University. His father Tom Carson was the long standing Features Editor of the Belfast Telegraph and his mother Patricia Carson was elected as a Belfast Councillor in 1973 for the Alliance Party, but died a few weeks later that year from cancer before she could take up her seat on the council. "Mission to Prey" is the title of an episode of the RTÉ programme ''Prime Time Investigates'' broadcast in May 2011. It told of how an Irish catholic priest in Kenya of having fathered a child by engaging in child sexual abuse. It was described as "one of the gravest editorial mistakes ever made" in the history of RTÉ broadcasting. The broadcast In January 2011 reporter Aoife Kavanagh and producer Mark Lappin, on a research trip to Kenya, believed they had found evidence of a sexual scandal involving Fr. Kevin Reynolds, an Irish Catholic priest. Their sources accused Fr. Kevin Reynolds of raping a teenage girl and fathering her child in Kenya. ''Who Do You Think You Are?'' is an Irish genealogy documentary series that first aired on RTÉ One in 2008. It is made by the production company Mint. In each episode, a celebrity goes on a journey to trace his or her lineage through a family tree. A panorama (formed from Greek πᾶν "all" + ὅραμα "view") is any wide-angle view or representation of a physical space, whether in painting, drawing, photography, film, seismic images, or 3D modeling.
