Stephen Baker (born 2 December 1961) is an English former professional association footballer who played as a defender. Football career Southampton Born in Wallsend, Baker was a member of the Wallsend Boys Club where he was spotted by scouts from First Division club, Southampton. After a trial, he joined the south coast club as an apprentice in July 1978, shortly after his 16th birthday, going on to sign a professional contract in December 1979. He made his debut for the reserves in March 1979, and for the next two seasons he shared the right-back position in the reserves with Manny Andruszewski, before making an "impressive" first team debut in the final game of the 1980–81 season at Ipswich Town on 13 May. Wallsend
Wallsend is a town in North Tyneside, England, at the eastern end of Hadrian's Wall. It has a population of 43,842 and lies east of Newcastle upon Tyne. Gordon Hobson
Gordon Hobson (born 27 November 1957) is an English retired footballer who played as a forward, spending most of his career with Lincoln City, with shorter periods at Grimsby Town, Southampton and Exeter City. Football career Hobson was born in Sheffield attending Firth Park School but played his youth football with Winterton Rangers in Lincolnshire. Trained as a plumber, Hobson continued to play in local football, turning out for Sheffield Rangers on Saturdays and for Manchester Villa, a Chesterfield pub team, on Sundays. Shortly after his 20th birthday, he was signed by Lincoln City, then in the Football League Third Division. Gerry Forrest
Gerald Forrest (born 21 January 1957) is an English retired footballer who played at full-back for Rotherham United and Southampton. Football career Born in Stockton-on-Tees, Forrest played his youth football with Billingham Town and was a member of the Stockton Youth Representative team in the mid-1970s. He then joined South Bank of the Northern League from where he was invited to Rotherham United for a trial in February 1977. After making an impression on manager Jimmy McGuigan, Forrest was signed as a professional and went straight into Rotherham's first team at the start of the 1977–78 season, remaining an automatic choice for several years. In 1981, Rotherham were Third Division champions but after two seasons in the Second Division they dropped back down again. Mick Mills
Michael Dennis Mills MBE (born 4 January 1949) is an English former footballer who played for Ipswich Town, Southampton and Stoke City. He managed Stoke City, Colchester United and Birmingham City. During his career he achieved Ipswich Town's record number of appearances and captained England at the 1982 World Cup. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1984 New Year Honours, for "services to association football". John Bond (footballer)
John Frederick Bond (17 December 1932 – 25 September 2012) was an English professional football player and manager. He played from 1950 until 1966 for West Ham United, making 444 appearances in all competitions and scoring 37 goals. He was a member of the West Ham side which won the 1957–58 Second Division and the 1964 FA Cup. He also played for Torquay United until 1969. He managed seven different Football League clubs, and was the manager of the Norwich City side which made the 1975 Football League Cup Final and the Manchester City side which made the 1981 FA Cup Final. Football League Third Division
The Football League Third Division was the third tier of the English football league system in 1920–21 and again from 1958 until 1992. When the FA Premier League was formed, the division become the fourth tier level. In 2004, following the formation of the Football League Championship, the division was renamed Football League Two.
