Steve Albert
Steve Albert (born Stephen Aufrichtig in Brooklyn, New York;April 26, 1952) is a former American sportscaster. He has served as a play-by-play announcer for the New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors, New York Mets, and Phoenix Suns as well as the Major Indoor Soccer League's New York Arrows. Albert ended his career as the television play-by-play announcer for the Phoenix Suns. He retired following the Suns' 2016-2017 season. He also served as a broadcaster for the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Cleveland Crusaders and New York Jets, and as the sports anchor at WCBS-TV, WNBC-TV and WWOR-TV and did morning sports reports on WABC (AM). He covered major boxing fights on ''Showtime Championship Boxing'' for 17 years, including the infamous " Bite Fight" between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in 1997. Alan Albert (born Alan Aufrichtig in Brooklyn, New York) is a sportscaster, who formerly called basketball games for the New York Nets and Denver Nuggets, as well as national NBA coverage for the USA Network. He was also a play-by-play sportscaster for the Indiana Pacers. He has also worked in boxing, as the blow-by-blow announcer for '' Tuesday Night Fights''. Education Albert obtained his degree from Ohio University, where he played hockey and lacrosse. He played goalie for both sports. Marv Albert (born Marvin Philip Aufrichtig; June 12, 1941) is an American retired sportscaster. Honored for his work as a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, he was commonly referred to as "the voice of basketball". From 1967 to 2004, he was also known as "the voice of the New York Knicks". Albert worked for Turner Sports as the lead announcer for NBA games on TNT until his retirement at the end of the 2020–21 season. ''Battle Dome'' is a Broadcast syndication, syndicated American television series that aired from September 1999 to April 2001. It combined elements of ''American Gladiators (1989 TV series), American Gladiators'' – inspired athletic competition – with scripted antics more reminiscent of professional wrestling. ''The Grudge Match'' is a 1991 syndicated television game show that invited feuding people to settle their issues in a boxing ring using various implements of revenge. Ken Ober (July 3, 1957 – November 15, 2009) was an American game show host, comedian, and actor. Early life and career Born Kenneth Oberding in Brookline, Massachusetts, he was raised in a suburb of Hartford, Connecticut, where his first job was as a bagger at a local Jewish supermarket. Ober hosted four game shows over the course of his career. He received his break after appearing as a contestant on ''Star Search'' in 1984.
