Georg Stetter
Georg Carl Stetter (23 December 1895 – 14 July 1988) was an Austrian-German nuclear physicist. Stetter was Director of the Second Physics Institute of the University of Vienna. He was a principal member of the German nuclear energy project, also known as the Uranium Club. In the latter years of World War II, he was also the Director of the Institute for Neutron Research. After the war, he was dismissed from his university positions, and he then became involved in dust protection research. After his dismissal was overturned, he became Director of the First Physics Institute of the University of Vienna, and he began research on aerosols. In 1962, Stetter became a full Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In that same year, the Academy established their Commission for Clean Air, and Stetter served as its chairman until 1985. Karl Otto Stetter (born 16 July 1941) is a German microbiologist and authority on astrobiology. He is an expert on microbial life at high temperatures. Career Stetter was born in Munich and studied biology at the Technical University of Munich. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on lactobacilli. From 1980 to 2002 he was professor at, and head of, the department of microbiology and of the Archaea center of the University of Regensburg. The majority of Stetter's research has focused on sampling, isolating and characterizing archaeal organisms which comprise the third domain of life, particularly undiscovered extremely heat-loving (''hyperthermophilic'') bacteria and Archaea, also called extremophiles, growing optimally between 80 and 113 °C. Mitchel Blake Stetter (born January 16, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher and current Coach (baseball), coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers. College Stetter attended Indiana State University, where he was a pitcher. In 2001 and 2002, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was then drafted in the 16th round (459th overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. Wilhelm Stetter (1487–1552) was a German Renaissance painter from Alsace. He was born and died in Strasbourg. Stetter was long known by the notname Master W. S. with the Maltese cross until he was identified in 1952 by the scholar Jean Rott (1911–1998). As well as a painter, stylistically influenced by Hans Baldung and Albrecht Dürer, Stetter was a member of the Order of Saint John since 1510 (first as an acolyte, then ordained as a priest in 1512). Dora Koch-Stetter (4 May 1881 – 16 January 1968) was a German landscape artist, portrait-painter and etcher. Life Dora Stetter already came into contact with art as a child. After the death of her husband and the retreat to Berlin in 1884, her mother led a drawing school there. Her own artistic career began in 1899–1901 with her studies as a drawing teacher at the Royal School of Art in Berlin. This study secured her life support between 1902 and 1917 as a teacher for private pupils in her own studio in Berlin. In order to develop his own skills towards a free-lancing painter, in 1901/02 followed courses in painting and drawing with :de:Conrad Fehr at the art-school, connected to the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin, and 1902 painting studies with Johannes Heise.
