Roger Stern (born September 17, 1950) is an American comic book author and novelist. Biography Early career In the early 1970s, Stern and Bob Layton published the fanzine ''CPL'' (''Contemporary Pictorial Literature''), one of the first platforms for the work of John Byrne. ''CPL'' rapidly became a popular fan publication, and led to the two forming an alliance with Charlton Comics to produce and publish "the now-famous '' Charlton Bullseye'' magazine". During the mid-1970s, both Marvel and DC were publishing in-house "fan" publications ('' FOOM'' and '' The Amazing World of DC Comics'' respectively), and Charlton wished to make inroads into the superhero market, as well as "establish a fan presence," leading to the alliance with CPL to produce the ''Charlton Bullseye''. ''The Amazing World of DC Comics'' was DC Comics' self-produced fan magazine of the mid-1970s. Running 17 issues, the fanzine featured DC characters and their creators, and was exclusively available through mail order. Primarily text articles, with occasional strips and comics features, ''Amazing World'' offered a great deal of insight into Bronze Age DC corporate and creative culture. The bulk of the issues were edited by Allan Asherman and later by Paul Levitz and then Cary Burkett; individual issues were edited by Carl Gafford, Bob Rozakis, and Neal Pozner. Ralph Macchio ( ; born December 28, 1950) is an American comic book editor and writer who has held many positions at Marvel Comics, including executive editor. Macchio is commonly associated with '' Daredevil'', ''Thor'', the Spider-Man line of comics, and the Ultimate Marvel line. Mark Eugene Gruenwald ( ; June 18, 1953 – August 12, 1996) was an American comic book writer, editor, and occasional penciler known for his long association with Marvel Comics.
