Scharpling And Wurster
Scharpling and Wurster are a long-form radio comedy duo composed of Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster. Scharpling was a writer/producer for the USA network program ''Monk''. Wurster is the drummer for indie rock pioneers Superchunk and was also the drummer in The Ascended Masters, Guided by Voices vocalist Robert Pollard's solo touring band. He is also currently the drummer for The Mountain Goats and Bob Mould. Scharpling is the host of the long-running radio program '' The Best Show'', which was originally broadcast on WFMU from 2000 to 2013 and has since begun broadcasting independently over the internet as of 2014, airing for three hours on Tuesday nights and released as a podcast the following day. Tom Scharpling
Thomas John Giuliano II (born February 9, 1969), known professionally as Tom Scharpling, is an American comedian, television writer, producer, music video director, voice actor, and radio host. He is best known for hosting the weekly Internet radio call-in comedy program ''The Best Show with Tom Scharpling'' (formerly ''The Best Show on WFMU''), the voice of Greg Universe in the animated series ''Steven Universe'' and its sequel series '' Steven Universe Future'', and for acting as a writer/executive producer for the TV show ''Monk''. Scharpling was also a writer on ''Tom Goes to the Mayor'' and ''Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!'' Beginning in 1999, he released six albums with comedy partner Jon Wurster under the moniker Scharpling & Wurster. Jon Wurster
Jonathan Patrick Wurster (born October 31, 1966) is an American drummer and comedy writer. As a musician, he is best known for his work with Superchunk, the Mountain Goats, and Bob Mould. He is also known for appearing on '' The Best Show'' with Tom Scharpling. Wurster has recorded and performed live with Jay Farrar, Ben Gibbard, Robert Pollard, Katy Perry, The New Pornographers, Rocket from the Crypt, Alejandro Escovedo, and R.E.M. Music career Early music career Wurster grew up in the southeastern Pennsylvania town of Harleysville and began playing drums at the age of ten, taking lessons for a few years before playing in local bands. In 1984 Wurster joined the psychedelic punk band Psychotic Norman.
