Stephen Yardley
Stephen Yardley (born 24 March 1942) is an English actor. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1963, he became known for his many roles on UK television between 1964 and 2004. Career In the mid-1960s, Yardley was a permanent member of the company at Dundee Repertory Theatre. He also made early appearances on television in the 1960s in series including ''Danger Man'', and had an extended run during 1967–68 in ''Z-Cars''. His subsequent work included performances as semi-reformed cat burglar William "Spider" Scott in ''The XYY Man'' (1976–77); Max Brocard in '' Secret Army'' (1978); Roy Swetman, a professional hit man in the hard-hitting British police drama '' The Professionals,'' the episode titled "Hijack" (1980) and as Police Inspector Cadogan in '' Virtual Murder'' (1992). Ferrensby is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 187. It is about north-east of Knaresborough and near the A1(M) motorway. Nearby attractions include a balloon centre and a maze. ''Family Affairs'' is a British soap opera that aired on Channel 5. It debuted on 30 March 1997, the day of the launch of said channel and was the first programme broadcast on the channel. It was screened as five thirty-minute episodes per week, followed by an omnibus edition on Sundays. The series never achieved high ratings, so it went through a number of dramatic revamps involving wholesale cast turnover. The premise of the series was also refocused from a family in a quiet suburb just outside London, to a range of different people living on a bustling outer London street. ''Howards' Way'' is a television drama series produced by BBC Birmingham and transmitted on BBC1 between 1 September 1985 and 25 November 1990.
