Stephen Terry
Stephen Terry is a professional chef from Wales, who was taught by Marco Pierre White in his kitchen " Harveys" and currently owns, and is Head Chef at, the Hardwick Restaurant in Abergavenny, Wales. He has a wife and three children. The Hardwick was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand rating in 2011, which was lost in the same year. His restaurant The Hardwick is managed by his wife Joanna, and is unrecognisable from any of his previous restaurants where he was purely the head chef. Terry went into business with Francesco Mattioli and bought The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny (previously run by Italian celebrity chef Franco Taruschio) and gained a Michelin star there. However, they decided to go their separate ways and Terry left the business in Francesco Mattioli's hands. However, with the loss of the Michelin-starred chef, the business began to collapse, which led to an episode of "Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" being filmed there. A chef is a trained professional cook and tradesman who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, often focusing on a particular cuisine. Marco Pierre White
Marco Pierre White (born 11 December 1961) is a British chef, restaurateur, and television personality. He has been dubbed "the first celebrity chef" and the ''enfant terrible'' of the UK restaurant scene. In January 1995, aged 33, White became the first British chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. Harveys (restaurant)
Harveys was a restaurant in Wandsworth, London, run by chef Marco Pierre White between 1987 and 1993. Its French cuisine was warmly received by food critics, and it was named Restaurant of the Year by ''The Times'' in 1987. History The restaurant opened in January 1987. The Walnut Tree (restaurant)
The Walnut Tree is a restaurant in Llanddewi Skirrid, Monmouthshire, Wales, run by chef Shaun Hill and holds a Michelin star. It was previously owned by Franco Taruschio for more than 30 years, and had previously held a star when Stephen Terry was head chef there. ''Great British Menu'' is a BBC television series in which top British chefs compete for the chance to cook one course of a four-course banquet. James Sommerin
James Sommerin (born c. 1978 in Caerleon) is a former Michelin-starred Welsh chef. Born in Caerleon, Sommerin baked with his grandmother on Saturdays as a child. Determined to become a chef, his father secured the 12-year-old Sommerin's first Saturday job in an Italian restaurant in the hope of dissuading his son from getting into the industry, but the job only served to convince Sommerin of his vocation. After school he undertook formal cookery training. Sommerin's first full-time job cooking was as a commis chef at the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel, Llangybi.
