Stephen Randolph (historian)
Stephen P. Randolph is an American historian who served as Director of the Office of the Historian of the United States Department of State from 2012 to 2017. Education Randolph graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1974 and then earned a MA in History of Science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1975 and a Ph.D from George Washington University in 2005. Career Previously to his arrival at the State Department, Randolph worked at the Eisenhower School of National Defense from 1997 to 2011 in various roles. The Office of the Historian is an office of the United States Department of State within the Foreign Service Institute. It is legally responsible for the preparation and publication of the official historical documentary record of U.S. foreign policy in the ''Foreign Relations of the United States'' series, which can be accessed at its website. Colonel
Colonel (abbreviated as Col., Col or COL) is a senior military officer rank used in many countries. It is also used in some police forces and paramilitary organizations. In the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a colonel was typically in charge of a regiment in an army.
