Stephen James Price (born 5 October 1969) is an Australian politician. He has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since the 2017 state election, representing Forrestfield. The Western Australian Legislative Assembly, or lower house, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Western Australia, an Australian state. The Parliament sits in Parliament House in the Western Australian capital, Perth. The Legislative Assembly today has 59 members, elected for four-year terms from single-member electoral districts. Members are elected using the preferential voting system. As with all other Australian states and territories, voting is compulsory for all Australian citizens over the legal voting age of 18. Nathan Morton
Nathan Wray Morton (born 3 August 1978) is a former Australian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2013 to 2017, representing the seat of Forrestfield. He was a schoolteacher before entering politics. Morton was born in Melbourne, but moved to Perth as a small child. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a graduate diploma in education, and most taught at Cecil Andrews Senior High School. Morton first stood for parliament at the 2008 state election, but was defeated by Labor's Andrew Waddell in Forrestfield by just 98 votes on the two-party-preferred count (the third-closest result of the election). Bunbury, Western Australia
Bunbury is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's third most populous city after Perth and Mandurah, with a population of approximately 75,000. Located at the south of the Leschenault Estuary, Bunbury was established in 1836 on the orders of Governor James Stirling, and named in honour of its founder, Lieutenant (at the time) Henry Bunbury. 2017 Western Australian State Election
The 2017 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 11 March 2017 to elect members to the Parliament of Western Australia, including all 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 36 seats in the Legislative Council. The eight-and-a-half-year two-term incumbent Liberal– WA National government, led by Premier Colin Barnett, was defeated in a landslide by the Labor opposition, led by Opposition Leader Mark McGowan. Labor won 41 of the 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly—a 12-seat majority. The Australian Workers' Union (AWU) is one of Australia's largest and oldest trade unions.
