	Stephen Parry (Australian Politician) Stephen Shane Parry (born 31 October 1960) is an Australian politician who was a Liberal Party senator for Tasmania from 2005 to 2017. He was elected President of the Senate in 2014. On 31 October 2017, Parry informed the government that he may be a British citizen, and issued his intention to resign from his position if dual nationality was confirmed. The next day he reported that he had received confirmation of his dual citizenship and, on 2 November, he resigned as president and from the Senate. He was replaced in the Senate by next Liberal Party Tasmanian Senate candidate and former senator Richard Colbeck after a recount. Early life Parry was born on 31 October 1960 in Burnie, Tasmania, to William Stephen ("Bill") Parry (1940–2015) and Patricia Dawn Evans; his father had been born in Liverpool, UK and had emigrated to Australia in the 1950s. 	Stephen Parry (cricketer) Stephen David Parry (born 12 January 1986) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. Parry made his senior debut for Lancashire in 2007 and in 2009 was named Lancashire's Young Player of the Year. From 2008 to 2012 Lancashire had two other left-arm orthodox spinners in their squad, with Parry competing with them for places in the team. Parry became established in Lancashire's limited overs teams, though played less frequently for the first-class side. Having previously represented England Lions, Parry made his One Day International debut against the West Indies in March 2014, and played his first Twenty20 International against the same opponents later that month. 	Stephen Parry (swimmer) Stephen Benjamin Parry (born 2 March 1977) is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA world championships and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. He competed internationally in 100-metre and 200-metre butterfly events. Career After joining Stockport Metro, he set a Commonwealth record at the 2000 US Nationals in Seattle, beating, among others, a very young Michael Phelps. Later that year he qualified for his first Olympic Games in Sydney. Four years later in Athens, Greece, Parry won Britain's first Olympic swimming medal in eight years at the Athens Summer Olympics in 200-metres butterfly, being beaten by Michael Phelps and Takashi Yamamoto. 	Stephen Parry (Welsh MP) Stephen Parry (c.1675–1724), of Neuadd Trefawr, was a Welsh politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1715 to 1724. Parry was the only son of John Parry of Panteynon and his wife Margaret Bulbell of Dublin. He married Anne Parry, daughter of David Parry of Neuadd Trefawr. He succeeded his father in 1722. 	Steve Parry (musician) Stephen John Parry (born 4 September 1958, in Pontypool), is a Welsh guitarist and composer who was a founder member of the experimental rock band Hwyl nofio. He founded and played with Neu Electrikk. He has recorded with Colin Potter of Nurse with Wound and played with Matt Johnson of the post punk band The The. Early days Parry started learning guitar around the age of eight and later studied piano. Parry's mother Anne was a church organist at the local St Mary's Church, Panteg. He often accompanied his Mother to church and sat by her side as she played. The constant drone and mechanism of the church organ fascinated the young boy. Parry is a product of the South Wales Valleys; formative years were spent living in the shadow of The Black Mountains, amid the scars and ruins of a heavily industrial landscape.
