Stephen Jenkins (footballer)
Stephen Matthew Jenkins (born 2 January 1980) is an English retired footballer who played as a central defender. He began his career as a youth at Southampton, before transferring to Brentford in 1999. After his release in 2000, Jenkins embarked on a short career in non-league football. Playing career Southampton A left-sided central defender, Jenkins began his career in the Centre of Excellence at Premier League club Southampton and signed a professional contract in January 1998. He failed to make a first team appearance for the club and was released at the end of the 1998–99 season. Brentford Jenkins joined Third Division high-flyers Brentford on loan on 26 March 1999. He went straight onto the substitutes' bench for the following game against Hartlepool United on 3 April and made his professional debut when he came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Andy Scott during the 1–0 win. Ijah Massai Anderson (born 30 December 1975) is an English retired professional footballer, who made over 200 appearances as a left back in the Football League for Brentford. He also played League football for Bristol Rovers, Swansea City and Wycombe Wanderers. 2003–04 Southern Football League
The 2003–04 Southern Football League season was the 101st in the history of the league, an English football competition. It was the last season for the Southern Football League as a feeder for the Conference Premier. At the end of the season, the Premier Division was replaced as a level 6 league (along with the Northern Premier League Premier Division and Isthmian League Premier Division) by the newly formed Conference North and Conference South. The Premier Division lost more than half its clubs to newly formed divisions, and the two regional divisions had a number of their clubs promoted to the Premier Division to replace them. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions. The Central and South Divisions are at step 3 of the National League System (NLS), and are feeder divisions, mainly to the National League South but also to the National League North. The 2002–03 Football Conference season was the 24th season of the Football Conference. Overview This season the number of teams promoted to the Football League Division Three was increased from one to two, and play-offs were introduced to determine the second team to be promoted, along with the Conference champions. The bottom three, as usual, were relegated to either the Northern Premier League, the Southern Premier League or the Isthmian League. Yeovil Town clinched the league title and won promotion to the Football League Division Three. Doncaster Rovers also earned promotion to Division Three following their 3–2 play-off win over Dagenham & Redbridge, during extra time with a sudden death goal in the 110th minute. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Macclesfield is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England.
