Stephen Hackett (hurler)
Stephen Hackett (26 December 1891 – 10 January 1969) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back for the Tipperary senior team. Hackett made his first appearance for the team during the 1913 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen at various times until his retirement after the 1932 championship. The Munster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Toomevara, officially Toomyvara (), is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland. The village is at the junction on the R445 where it meets the R499 regional road. The village was bypassed in December 2010 by the M7 Dublin - Limerick motorway. It is also a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe, and is in the historical barony of Ormond Upper. Martin Hackett (born 4 January 1891) was an Irish hurler who played for the Dublin senior team. Hackett made his first appearance for the team during the 1917 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for just one season. It was a successful year as he won one All-Ireland medal and one Leinster medal. At club level, Hackett was a one-time county club championship medalist with Collegians. The Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the FBD Insurance Tipperary County Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1887 for the top hurling teams in the county of Tipperary in Ireland. The 1931 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 46th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 1 May 1932 and ended on 4 September 1932. Cork were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the provincial series of games. Kilkenny won the title following a 3–3 to 2–3 victory over Clare in the final.
