Stephen Keith Green, Baron Green of Hurstpierpoint (born 7 November 1948), is a British politician, former Conservative Minister of State for Trade and Investment, former group chairman of HSBC Holdings plc, and Anglican priest. Early life and education Stephen Green was born on 7 November 1948 to Dudley Keith Green and Dorothy Rosamund Mary Green (née Wickham). After a private education at Lancing College, near his family home in Brighton, he attended Exeter College, Oxford, obtaining a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) in 1966. Green's parents were active churchgoers and influenced his religious activities both as a young man and later in life; after graduating he spent a year volunteering in the East End of London at a hostel for recovering alcoholics, a move also reputedly influenced by a visit from a Church of England vicar. Its stated objective is "to uphold Christianity as the Faith of the United Kingdom, to be a voice for Biblical values in law and public policy, and to defend and support traditional family life." Steve Green (born January 26, 1978) is a Canadian former professional baseball relief pitcher. He has played one game in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Anaheim Angels in . Career Green was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 47th round of the 1995 MLB Draft but chose not to sign. He was drafted out of Fort Scott Community College by the Anaheim Angels in the 10th round of the 1997 MLB Draft. He began his professional career in 1998, pitching for the single-A Cedar Rapids Kernals. He pitched to a 2–6 win-loss record, 4.54 earned run average (ERA) and struck out 61 batters over 831⁄3 innings. Steven Michael Green (born October 4, 1953) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 6'7" (2.00 m) and 220 lb (100 kg) small forward and played collegiately at Indiana University where he was first-year head coach Bob Knight's first recruit in 1971. He attended Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Indiana. Professional career Green was selected by both the Utah Stars in the 1975 American Basketball Association Draft and by the Chicago Bulls with the 12th pick of the second round in the 1975 NBA Draft. In 1975–76 he played with the Utah Stars and Spirits of St. Louis, with combined averages of 9.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
