Stephen Butler (rugby League)
Stephen Butler (born 1954) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in Sydney's NSWRFL competition in the 1970s. He was a two-time premiership winner in his three year career in the top grade. Career Butler came through the junior ranks at St. George S.G. Ball Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup teams. He was graded in 1976 and played most of the year in the Under23s. He won a premiership with St. George in his debut first grade year in 1977 after replacing Tony Graham in the starting line up. Rugby League
Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. Tony Graham (rugby League)
Tony Graham was an Australian rugby league player from the 1970s. Career A speedy winger, Tony Graham started his career at the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in 1976. The following year Tony Graham was awarded a two-year contract with the St. George Dragons and joined the 'Bath's Babes' squad, overseen by the mastercoach, Harry Bath. He started off 1977 in first grade, but eventually lost his place in the team to the emerging talent of Stephen Bulter. Although Graham was a reserve back for the 1977 Grand Final, his later appearances for the club were mostly in the reserve grade team. 1977 NSWRFL Season
The 1977 NSWRFL season was the 70th season of Sydney's professional rugby league football competition, the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership. Twelve clubs, including six of 1908's foundation teams and another six from around Sydney competed for the J. J. Giltinan Shield and WD & HO Wills Cup during the season, which culminated in a grand final between the St. George and Parramatta clubs. NSWRFL teams also competed for the 1977 Amco Cup. Season summary During the pre-season Parramatta forward Graham Olling made headlines when he became the first rugby league player to admit to taking anabolic steroids, which at the time were not illegal in the sport. Another stir was created at the start of the season by Newtown's recruitment of professional American football player, Manfred Moore. Harry Bath
Harry Bath (28 November 1924 – 4 October 2008), born Alfred Henry Bath, also known by the nickname of "The Old Fox", was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach who was prominent and influential in the mid-20th century. A state and international representative who played 12 matches for Other Nationalities in the International Championship from 1949 to 1955, he played as a and has been referred to as the best Australian rugby league player never to be picked for the Australian national team. The 1979 NSWRFL season was the 72nd season of Sydney's professional rugby league football competition, Australia's first. Twelve New South Wales Rugby Football League clubs competed for the J.J. Michel Sorridimi (born 5 November 1956) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. Career A St George Dragons junior from the Kingsgrove Colts, Michel 'Zorro' Sorridimi was graded in 1974.
