Stephen Briers
Stephen Briers is a British clinical psychologist. Briers was an on-screen expert in BBC Three's ''Little Angels'' and ''Teen Angels'', working with Tanya Byron. In 2006, he presented the Channel 4 series, ''Make Me A Grownup''. He also presents ''The 10 Demandments'' for Channel Five. Briers has also appeared as an expert psychologist on GMTV. He presented '' Freaky Eaters'' with nutritionist Natalie Savona for one series. He has written a parenting book called Superpowers for parents. A co-author of the book ''Teen Angels'' (2006), based on the BBC Three series, Briers has also written ''Help your Child to Succeed in Life''. He also contributes frequently to the ''Times Educational Supplement''. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. Channel 5 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel launched in 1997. ''Freaky Eaters'' is a British factual television programme produced by independent television production company ''betty'' for BBC Three. Broadcast dates were February-March 2007 (Series 1), February-April 2008 (Series 2), and February-April 2009 (Series 3). Series 1 was narrated by the actress Jill Halfpenny and Series 2 by Sharon Horgan. It was first published in 1910 as a pull-out supplement in ''The Times'' newspaper. Such was its popularity that in 1914, the supplement became a separate publication selling for one penny. Psychobabble
Psychobabble (a portmanteau of "psychology" or "psychoanalysis" and " babble") is a form of speech or writing that uses psychological jargon, buzzwords, and esoteric language to create an impression of truth or plausibility. The term implies that the speaker or writer lacks the experience and understanding necessary for the proper use of psychological terms. Additionally, it may imply that the content of speech deviates markedly from common sense and good judgement. Some buzzwords that are commonly heard in psychobabble have come into widespread use in business management, motivational seminars, self-help, folk psychology, and popular psychology.
