Stephen Bray (footballer)
Stephen Bray (born 23 August 1982) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Navan O'Mahonys GAA, Navan O'Mahony's club and the Meath county football team, Meath county team. A two-footed corner forward, he is a prolific scorer. Bray had a very successful season with Meath GAA, Meath in 2007, with a semi final appearance against Cork GAA, Cork and an all star award. However, 2008 was what Bray himself described as a "disaster" for the team. Before joining the Meath GAA, Meath senior team, he won Leinster Junior Football Championship and All-Ireland Junior Football Championship medals in 2003. Navan O'Mahonys GAA
Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. The club has also won 2 Senior Hurling Championships placing them in the top 15 most successful hurling sides in the county. History The idea of forming a new Gaelic football club in Navan was first mooted during a late evening discussion at the house of the late Peter Hughes, Rathaldron, Navan, with co-founders, the late Eddie Duignan and Jack Callaghan spearheading the move. The house of the late Peter Hughes was a regular haunt for local neighbours. An impromptu meeting was called for the purpose of forming the new club but just nine men turned up for this meeting. Meath Senior Football Championship
The Meath Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Meath, Ireland. Qualification for subsequent competitions The winners of the Meath Senior Football Championship winners qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Competition format From 2020, 16 teams compete in the championship, with four groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The bottom two teams in each group progress to the relegation playoffs. The overall loser in the relegation playoffs gets relegated to the Intermediate Division. Anthony Moyles (footballer)
Anthony Moyles (born 16 November 1976) is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player who currently manages Dunsaughlin in the Meath Senior Football Championship. Moyles originally played for local club St Pauls in the Junior Championship and was on a team that earned promotion to the Intermediate division. In 2002 he transferred to Blackhall Gaels with whom he won his first Meath , Senior Championship title in 2003. Between late 2008 and early 2009 Moyles moved to St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh, a top level team in Dublin. Meath Moyles has been a member of the Meath panel since 2000. He was named as the captain for 2007 which turned to a successful year for him and his panel. The Meath county football team represents Meath in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Meath GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Football Championship is a GAA competition involving four Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams. Prior to a change in competition structure in 2021, the competition was previously for all Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams in Ireland. In this previous format, the definition of what constituted a Junior player differed from county to county. In some, the junior team was the second team after the senior team. This meant that any players who had not played with the senior team could play with the junior team. In others, such as Cork and Kerry, players could only be chosen from clubs that played in junior or intermediate grades. These counties could not choose players from senior clubs, even if they were not on the senior county team. When a team won this championship, it had to pick a new team for the following year. The Leinster Junior Football Championship is a junior "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Leinster Council. The competition began in 1906, with Wicklow winning during the inaugural year.
