Stephen Asamoah Boateng
Stephen Asamoah Boateng (born August 18, 1958) is a Ghanaian politician and a former member of parliament for the Mfantsiman West constituency of the Central region of Ghana. He is a former Minister for Local Government Rural Development and Environment, Tourism and Diaspora Relations. Boateng is also a former minister of information and National Orientation as well as a former chief executive officer of the State Enterprise committee. He is currently the Director general of the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA). Early life and education Boateng was born in 1958 and hails from Konongo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Asamoah Boateng
Asamoah is a prominent last name of the Akan tribe in West Africa, primarily located in Ghana. It is derived from "Asomafo" in the twi (chwee) language, meaning "apostles." In Twi, "Asoma" is the verb "to send" and "fo" means people, so the literal translation is "sent people." Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ( ; born 29 March 1944) is a Ghanaian politician who has served as the president of Ghana since 7 January 2017. In 2020, he was re-elected for his second term, which will end on 6 January 2025. Akufo-Addo previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the Kufuor-led administration. National Democratic Congress (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. The NDC lost the presidency in the 2000 election, and it was not until the 2008 election, that they regained it with John Atta Mills as its candidate. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah (born 4 April 1964) is a Ghanaian politician and a former member of the Parliament of Ghana and deputy Central Regional Minister of Ghana. National Union Of Ghana Students
NUGS, officially The National Union of Ghana Students is the largest student organization in Ghana. However the date of it foundation has been the subject of controversy. The official Facebook page suggests 1964. However Professor Anselmus Kludze, father of Ave Kludze, claimed that he was the National President of NUGS for the period 1962–1963. He stated he was preceded by P.D. Vanderpuije of the University of Science and Technology (UST) and followed by Mr. F.Y.I. Fiagbe, also of the UST. He further claims that both he and Fiagbe, along with Antwi (the General Secretary at the time), Mr. Easmon and Mr. Kodwo Carr were all arrested and imprisoned without trial under the Preventive Detention Act. The organisation can trace its origins to the Union of Gold Coast Students in West Africa which was founded in the 1930s.
