Stephanie Putson
Stephanie Putson (born August 1973) is an English film, television, and stage actress. Born on Teesside, Steph graduated from the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and after taking to the stage she gained her first screen role in the Tyne Tees Television serial ''The Gambling Man'' (1995) in which she had the lead role of Janie, opposite Robson Green. Since then, she has mostly appeared on television and stage. Putson originated the part of Billy’s Mum in the London stage production of ''Billy Elliot the Musical'', which ran from 2005 until 2016.Thomas S. Teesside () is a built-up area around the River Tees in the north of England, split between County Durham and North Yorkshire. The name was initially used as a county borough in the North Riding of Yorkshire. Historically a hub for heavy manufacturing, the number of people employed in this type of work declined from the 1960s onwards, with steel-making and chemical manufacturing (particularly through Imperial Chemical Industries) replaced to some extent by new science businesses and service sector roles. ''Playing the Field'' is a BBC television drama series following the lives of the Castlefield Blues, a fictitious female football team from South Yorkshire. Outline Inspired by Pete Davies's book ''I Lost My Heart to the Belles'' – which was written about a real-life club, the Doncaster Belles – ''Playing the Field'' ran for five series, from 1998 to 2002, with scripts by, amongst others, Kay Mellor, Sally Wainwright and Gaynor Faye. Despite being set in South Yorkshire, much of the location filming took place in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, although the fifth (and final) series was filmed around Leeds; whilst the theme song, "Blue" by Alison Moyet, was originally a B-side track about the singer's love of Southend United FC. ''King Arthur'' is a 2004 historical adventure film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by David Franzoni. It features an ensemble cast with Clive Owen as the title character, Ioan Gruffudd as Lancelot and Keira Knightley as Guinevere, along with Mads Mikkelsen, Joel Edgerton, Hugh Dancy, Ray Winstone, Ray Stevenson, Stephen Dillane, Stellan Skarsgård and Til Schweiger. The film is unusual in reinterpreting Arthur as a Roman officer rather than the typical medieval knight.
