Stephanie Morton
Stephanie Morton, (born 28 November 1990) is a retired Australian track cyclist. She has won national and international cycling titles, and was Felicity Johnson's tandem pilot at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where she won a gold medal. Personal Stephanie Morton was born in Adelaide on 28 November 1990. , she works for the "Bee Safe on Bikes" education program for junior primary school students. Cycling Morton is a member of South Coast Cycling Club and is part of Team Jayco AIS. She started cycling competitively at the age of 15. Competing at the 2011 National Keirin Final, she finished second behind Anna Meares. She made her Australian national team debut at the 2011 Para-cycling Track World Championships with Felicity Johnson. She has said forming a friendship and real partnership was key for the pair's success. Anna Maree Devenish Meares (born 21 September 1983) is an Australian retired track cyclist. She currently resides in Adelaide in South Australia where the Australian Institute of Sport's Track Cycling program has its headquarters at the Adelaide Super-Drome. She has been the 500 metre track time trial world champion on four occasions, and a gold medallist at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. At the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships Meares took the gold in the keirin—her 11th world title in total, which made her the most decorated female track cyclist of all time. She was the flag-bearer and captain for the Australian team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in keirin. – literally "racing cycle" – is a form of motor-paced cycle racing in which track cyclists sprint for victory following a speed-controlled start behind a motorized or non-motorized pacer. It was developed in Japan around 1948 for gambling purposes and became an official event at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Riders use brakeless fixed-gear bicycles. A tandem bicycle or twin is a form of bicycle (occasionally a tricycle) designed to be ridden by more than one person. Felicity Johnson
Felicity Jane Johnson (born 30 May 1971) is an Australian Paralympic tandem cyclist, who won a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing and a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. Personal Felicity Jane Johnson was born on 30 May 1971 with a visual impairment. Her early sporting career was as a track and field athlete and she won two silver medals in the 800 m at the FESPIC Games. She is employed as a support worker with Can Do for Kids, an organisation established for children with sensory disabilities. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today.
