Stephanie Longfellow
Stephanie Longfellow (born March 1882) was an American stage and film actress. She started as the understudy of Mabelle Gilman Corey. Her first leading role was as Pert in the 1908 rendition of the play ''Checkers''. She garnered positive reception for her stage performances. She was the grand-niece of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Career After completing school, Longfellow was the understudy of Mabelle Gilman Corey in the play ''The Runaway Girl''. Her later roles were as Susan in ''When Johnny Comes Marching Home'' and as Poppy in ''San Toy''. She had ingénue roles in plays for F. F. Proctor Stock Company and the Empire Stock Company in Boston. Longfellow was in the play ''The Cow Puncher'' from 1906 to 1907. Her first leading role was as Pert in the 1908 rendition of the play ''Checkers''. Elmer Chickering
Elmer Chickering (1857–1915) was a photographer specializing in portraits in Boston, Massachusetts, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He kept a studio on West Street, and photographed politicians, actors, athletes and other public figures such as Kyrle Bellew, John Philip Sousa, Sarah Winnemucca, Edmund Breese, and the Boston Americans. Biography Born in Vermont in 1857, Chickering moved to Boston and set up a photography studio around the 1880s. His photographic work appeared in numerous publications, including ''Good Housekeeping.'' In 1905 Chickering renamed his business as "Elmer Chickering Co." Mabelle Gilman Corey
Mabelle Gilman Corey (December 4, 1874 – November 14, 1960) was an American actress. She had an affair with William Ellis Corey which led to the dissolution of his marriage, and they later married. Biography She was born Mabelle Gilman to Charles Henry Gilman and Jeannette R. Curtis in San Francisco, California.She gave different birth years at different times in her life, making herself appear younger as she aged. In the 1880 United States Census for California she is listed as age 6, which would be consistent with being born in the year 1874. This is the most reliable document unless her birth or baptism record is found, and those records would have been lost in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Mabelle consistently gave her birthday as December 4th on all her passport applications. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (February 27, 1807 – March 24, 1882) was an American poet and educator. His original works include "Paul Revere's Ride", ''The Song of Hiawatha'', and ''Evangeline''. He was the first American to completely translate Dante Alighieri's ''Divine Comedy'' and was one of the fireside poets from New England. Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine, which was then still part of Massachusetts. He graduated from Bowdoin College and became a professor there and, later, at Harvard College after studying in Europe. His first major poetry collections were ''Voices of the Night'' (1839) and ''Ballads and Other Poems'' (1841).
