Stephan Van Baarle
Stephan Ruben Tobias van Baarle (born 25 August 1991) is a Dutch politician, serving as a member of the House of Representatives since 2021. A member of the minority interest party DENK, he also served on the Rotterdam municipal council from 2018 to 2022. Early life and education He was born in 1991 in Rotterdam to a Dutch mother and a Turkish father. Van Baarle was raised by his mother in the Rotterdam neighborhood Vreewijk and attended the high school Vreewijk Lyceum. He studied sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and became a junior teacher at his university. He was also active for the Labour Party in 2014. House Of Representatives (Netherlands)
The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. 2022 Dutch Municipal Elections
The Dutch municipal elections of 2022 were held on 16 March in 333 municipalities in the Netherlands. This election determined the composition of the municipal councils for the following four years. Background In the previous municipal elections, local political parties won by far the most votes and seats. Nationally, all local political parties won a total of 29% of the votes and around a third of municipal council seats. Local parties have seen a steady rise since the 1990s and in Vlieland there are only local parties that participate. 2021 Dutch General Election
General elections were held in the Netherlands from 15 to 17 March 2021 to elect all 150 members of the House of Representatives. Following the elections and lengthy coalition formation talks, the sitting government remained in power. The election had originally been scheduled to take place on 17 March; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government decided to open some polling stations two days in advance to ensure safe voting for elderly and immunocompromised citizens. Citizens aged 70 years or older were also given the opportunity to vote by post. The election was held two days before the 2021 Curaçao general election. Farid Azarkan
Farid Azarkan (born 16 October 1971) is a Moroccan-born Dutch politician serving as Leader of DENK since 26 September 2020. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 23 March 2017 and parliamentary leader since 21 March 2020. Azarkan is the ''lijsttrekker'' for DENK in the 2021 general election. Controversies In February 2017, it was reported that some members of the youth department of DENK had created fake social media profiles in order to influence public opinion. Tunahan Kuzu acknowledged that there had been some internet trolls and that they would be held to account for their behaviour. Furthermore, Kuzu said that "Farid Azarkan may have given some sort of permission, but that is not entirely clear." Livable Rotterdam
Livable Rotterdam ( nl, Leefbaar Rotterdam) is a local political party in the municipality of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, which was founded by Ronald Sørensen in 2001. Livable Rotterdam won the council elections of March 2002 due to the charismatic leadership of Pim Fortuyn who had been selected to lead the party. This made it the city's largest political party, a position which for the previous thirty years had been held by the Labour Party. Nitrous oxide (dinitrogen oxide or dinitrogen monoxide), commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous, or nos, is a chemical compound, an oxide of nitrogen with the formula . The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. Tunahan Kuzu (born 5 June 1981) is a Turkey, Turkish-born Netherlands, Dutch politician. He is a former member of the Labour Party (Netherlands), Labour Party (PvdA).
