Stein Johnson
Sten ("Stein") Jean Johnson (20 October 1921 – 28 April 2012) was a Norwegian speed skating trainer and Athletics (sport), athlete. He was born in Bergen and is the nephew of Sonja Johnsson. Johnson was a competitor in discus throw in the 1948 Summer Olympics, 1948 (where he finished eighth) and 1952 Summer Olympics. In addition he finished fifth at the 1946 European Championships in Athletics, 1946 European Championships and fourth at the 1950 European Championships in Athletics, 1950 European Championships. He later became trainer for the Norwegian national speed skating team. Magne Thomassen
Magne Thomassen (born 1 May 1941) is a former speed skater from Norway. He participated in international championships over a period of more than ten years. He took part in 23 country matches for Norway in the period 1959–1971 and competed in the European Speed Skating Championships, World Allround Speed Skating Championships and World Sprint Speed Skating Championships between 1962 and 1972. Biography After setting a world record on the 1,500 meters with the time 2:02.5 on 5 February 1972, Magne Thomassen conquered the first position on the Adelskalenderen ranking for a period of two days until Kees Verkerk regained that position. Thomassen became Norwegian allround champion in 1968. He became the first winner of the Norwegian sprint speed skating championship in 1970, a title he also won the year thereafter. Lars Berger
Lars Berger (born 1 May 1979) is a former Norwegian biathlete and cross-country skier. Life and career Fellow former biathlete Tora Berger is his sister. Berger's family moved to Lesja, Oppland, in 1985. At the age of six, Berger started cross-country skiing, but during his teens he decided to try out biathlon. Berger joined the national biathlon team in 2001. During the 2004 Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Germany, he won silver medals in the 15 km mass start and the 4 × 7.5 km relay. Berger also won two gold medals in the military world championships that same year (cross-country and patrol). Berger finished fifth in the 2004 overall World Cup, and won several gold medals from the Norwegian Biathlon Championships. Trond Einar Elden
Trond Einar Elden (born 21 February 1970) is a Norwegian former Nordic combined skier who represented Namdalseid I.L. in Trondheim. He competed at three Winter Olympics. At the 1989 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, he became the youngest world champion ever, fifteen days after his nineteenth birthday. At Falun in 1993, he won a bronze medal in the 15 km individual event. Additionally, Elden won two medals in the 3 × 10 km team event at the Nordic skiing world championships with a gold in 1989 and a silver in 1993. Elden also won the Nordic combined event twice at the Holmenkollen ski festival (1989, 1991). In 1991, Elden received the Holmenkollen medal (which he shared with Vegard Ulvang, Ernst Vettori, and Jens Weißflog). The Kniksen Award ( no, Kniksenprisen), established in 1990, honors the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen". Categories Category A A jury composed of players, leaders, coaches and officials in the Tippeligaen, nominates and choose the winners in each category. All the nominees must play in the Norwegian top division. The player's nationality does not matter. The Egebergs Ærespris ("Honorary Prize of Egeberg") is a prize awarded to Norwegian athletes who excel in more than one sport. The prize was created by Ferdinand Julian Egeberg, and consists of a bronze statuette modelled by sculptor Magnus Vigrestad. History In 1917 a donation of was given by Cabinet Chamberlain Ferdinand Julian Egeberg to the sports association Norges Riksforbund for Idræt. His donation was basis for the sports prize ''Kabinetskammerherre Egebergs ærespris for alsidig idrett''. The statutes for the award were agreed on 10 February 1920. The basic capital was not to be touched, while the fund's interests should be used for a prize given to a sportsperson who, during the last two years, had excelled in one sport and also showed eminent performances in another, completely different sport.
