John Stegeman
John Stegeman (born 27 August 1976) is a Dutch professional football manager and former footballer. Playing career During his footballing career, Stegeman played as a centre-forward in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, except for his debut season with Vitesse, which was in the Eredivisie. He made his debut for Vitesse on 30 March 1996 in an away match against Fortuna Sittard. After making six additional appearances during the season, he was loaned to Helmond Sport in the summer of 1996. After being released by Vitesse a year later, he played for Go Ahead Eagles, Heracles Almelo, AGOVV Apeldoorn and Cambuur Leeuwarden. In the summer of 2007, he retired from professional football. Managerial career Stegeman joined the technical staff of Heracles in June 2008. On 31 August 2014 the then head coach of Heracles, Jan de Jonge, was fired. Herman Stegeman
Herman James Stegeman (January 21, 1891 – October 22, 1939) was a player and coach of American football, basketball, baseball, and track and field athletics, and a college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Beloit College (1915), Monmouth College (1916–1917), and the University of Georgia (1920–1922), compiling a career college football coaching record of 29–17–6. At Georgia, Stegeman was also the head basketball coach (1919–1931), head baseball coach (1919–1920), and head track and field coach (1920–1937). Early years and playing career Stegeman was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, and was of Dutch descent. He attended the University of Chicago, where he starred in many sports, including track and field and football under the direction of the legendary Amos Alonzo Stagg. Stegeman Coliseum
Stegeman Coliseum is a 10,523-seat multi-purpose arena in Athens, Georgia, United States. The arena opened in 1964 in honor of C. Sal Stegeman. It is home to the University of Georgia Bulldogs basketball and gymnastics teams. It was also the venue of the rhythmic gymnastics and preliminary indoor volleyball matches during the 1996 Summer Olympics, as well as the 1989, 1995, and 2008 NCAA gymnastics championships. As a multi-purpose facility, the Coliseum also hosted a variety of other kinds of events, including many large indoor rock concerts during its early history, as well as the university's Graduate School commencement exercises. Philip Steegman
Philip Steegman (1903–1952) was a portrait painter, sculptor, writer and illustrator. Biography Philip Steegman was born in 1903, the son of Edward John Steegmann, a bacteriologist in the Royal Navy. His older brother was John Steegman, a writer on art and architecture. In 1926 he took the portrait of David Stuart Horner, currently at the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and in 1931 that of W. Somerset Maugham, currently at the National Portrait Gallery in London. He had his ''First Exhibition'' at the Claridge Gallery's in 1932. In the later 1930s, Steegman travelled in India and from the experience he wrote the book ''Indian Ink'' (1940). Philip Steegman died in 1952, in New Orleans; his wife Elizabeth in 1967. In 1966, Elizabeth Steegman donated ''The Chinese Chef (Portrait of Hing)'' to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, one of her late husband's most valued canvasses.
