Dan Steffan is an American cartoonist and writer who has contributed to both mainstream and underground publications for several decades. Biography During the 1970s, Steffan drew for such underground titles as ''Bizarre Sex'' and ''Grateful Dead Comix'', both published by Kitchen Sink Press. In the early 1980s, his cartoons and comic strips appeared frequently in '' Heavy Metal''. He co-founded the science fiction magazine ''Eye'' in 1986, and he contributed extensively to science fiction fanzines. In 1982, Steffan and Ted White teamed to launch the fanzine ''Pong''. His work for DC Comics during the 1990s includes inks on ''Animal Man'' #64 and cartoon art for licensed products associated with '' Batman: The Animated Series''. Johann Gottfried Steffan
Johann Gottfried Steffan (December 13, 1815 – June 16, 1905) was a Swiss landscape artist,Franz Zelger. Steffan, Johann Gottfried. ''Grove Art Online'' (Oxford University Press; 2003) regarded as one of the most important Swiss landscapists of the 19th century. Steffan was born in Wädenswil, Switzerland in 1815. After his apprenticeship as a lithographer in his home town, Steffan travelled to Munich in 1833, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts under Peter von Cornelius. Under the influence of Carl Rottmann, he turned to realistic landscape art. Steffan's studio became the center for Swiss artists in Munich, including Rudolf Koller, Johann Caspar Bosshardt and Arnold Böcklin, although he was also associated with artists from Germany. His pupils include Traugott Schiess (1834–69) and Otto Frölicher. He made several study trips to the Swiss Alps, especially to the Canton of Glarus and to Lake Walen. Joseph Anton Steffan
Josef Antonín Štěpán or Joseph Anton Steffan ( – ) was a Bohemian-Austrian Classical period (music), classical era composer and harpsichordist. Steffan was born in Kopidlno, near Hradec Králové, Bohemia in March 1726, the son of a schoolmaster and church organist. In 1741 he fled from the Prussian army to Vienna. He received his first musical lessons from his father but, in Vienna, he studied with Schilck and later became a student of Georg Christoph Wagenseil. He became the piano teacher of Maria Carolina of Austria, Maria Carolina and Marie Antoinette. In 1775, he contracted an eye disease which left him almost blind. He gave up his position at the court, but continued to compose. He died in Vienna in April 1797. Works Steffan's compositional output includes sacred works and chamber music (especially piano music). Joseph Charles Steffan (born July 29, 1964) is an American lawyer and gay activist. He was expelled from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1987 shortly before graduation after disclosing his homosexuality. He sued the U.S. Department of Defense, claiming that his oral avowal of homosexuality could not be construed as an indication that he ever had or intended to engage in sexual relations with another man. Steffan Cravos (born 1975, in Cardiff) is a Welsh rap and hip hop musician and artist. As "DJ Lambchop", Cravos is known for his "rub and scratch" turntablist style. He is also the founding member of Tystion, a Welsh hip hop band. He was briefly involved with an early line-up of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci playing violin and sound effects, and is credited on several songs on their early-years compilation ''Patio''. Johan Steffan Danielsen (3 September 1922 – 28 May 1976) was a Faroese painter. Life and work The self-taught artist Steffan Danielsen was born in Nólsoy, Faroe Islands. He found most of the inspiration for his pictures in his home village Nólsoy and the island of same name. In his art Danielsen distils the essence of the landscape in an original way. Philip Steffan Jones (born 9 February 1974) is a former professional cricketer who played for Somerset, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire County Cricket Clubs. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. He is now a teacher and occasionally a bowling coach. Career Steffan O'Sullivan was a ''GURPS'' writer whose projects included ''GURPS Swashbucklers'' (1990) and '' GURPS Bunnies & Burrows'' (1992).
