Stefano Lentini
Stefano Lentini (born 26 November 1974) is a music composer based in Rome, Italy. He has composed and produced music extensively for film, television and theatre, working in a large variety of genres. His first instrument was a classic guitar made by his grandfather, who was a carpenter, out of some old wardrobe doors. He started composing and recording music at a very early age. A multi-instrumentalist, Lentini is known for his use of original tunes on guitar, but also plays piano, bass, drums, flute, lute and several other instruments, often playing all of these on his albums through the use of multitrack recording. This multitude of instruments, including string orchestrations, figure prominently in his compositions, giving his music a symphonic sound. Pipa
The pipa, pípá, or p'i-p'a () is a traditional Chinese musical instrument, belonging to the plucked category of instruments. Sometimes called the "Chinese lute", the instrument has a pear-shaped wooden body with a varying number of frets ranging from 12 to 31. Another Chinese four-string plucked lute is the liuqin, which looks like a smaller version of the pipa. The pear-shaped instrument may have existed in China as early as the Han dynasty, and although historically the term ''pipa'' was once used to refer to a variety of plucked chordophones, its usage since the Song dynasty refers exclusively to the pear-shaped instrument. Souheil Ben-Barka (born 25 December 1942) is a Moroccan film director, screenwriter and film producer. He directed seven films between 1974 and 2002. His 1975 film ''La guerre du pétrole n'aura pas lieu'' was entered into the 9th Moscow International Film Festival. His 1983 film '' Amok'' won the Golden Prize at the 13th Moscow International Film Festival. In 1987 he was a member of the jury at the 15th Moscow International Film Festival. ''Stabat Mater'' is the sixth full-length album by Stefano Lentini. It was released on October 8, 2013. The single 'Stabat Mater' is a part of the soundtrack of Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmaster, 2014 Oscar Nominee. In an interview with the Pitchfork website, Lentini said: ''Sacred music is generally only referred to music based on religious texts. I think this is wrong. Any kind of music able to convey some Truth about existence should be regarded as “sacred”. It is neither a matter of sound nor of musical instrument. Marco Turco (born 28 July 1960) is an Italian director and screenwriter. Life and career Turco holds degrees in History and Philosophy. He studied under Ugo Pirro, Leonardo Benvenuti and Robert McKee at Aldo Giuffrè's drama school. Turco also wrote for ''L'Unità'' and ''Movie'' magazine. Turco began his career as an assistant to such directors as Tonino Valerii, Franco Giraldi, Damiano Damiani and Gianni Amelio. He directed several commercials and documentaries. Nathaniel Méchaly (born 1972) is a French musician and film composer. His composing credits include '' Avanim'' (2004), ''Revolver'' (2005), ''Colombiana'' (2011), '' The Grandmaster'' (2013), and the ''Taken'' trilogy (2008–2014). Early life Méchaly was born in 1972. Shigeru Umebayashi
(born February 19, 1951) is a Japanese composer. Once the leader and bass player of Japan's new wave rock band EX, composer Shigeru Umebayashi began scoring films in 1985 when the band broke up. He has more than 30 Japanese and Chinese film scores to his credit and is perhaps best known in the West for "Yumeji's Theme" (originally from Seijun Suzuki's ''Yumeji''), included in director Wong Kar-wai's '' In the Mood for Love'' (2000).
