Stefan Sandborg
Carl Nils ''Stefan'' Sandborg né Johansson (born 25 March 1970) is a senior Swedish Army officer. He currently serves as the Chief of Home Guard since 2018. Early life Sandborg was born on 25 March 1970 in Linköping Saint Lawrence Parish (''Linköpings S:t Lars församling''), Östergötland County, Sweden. Career Sandborg graduated from the Military Academy Karlberg in 1993 and was commissioned as an officer and appointed second lieutenant and was assigned to the Life Grenadier Brigade (''Livgrenadjärbrigaden'') in Linköping. He served there until the brigade was disbanded on 31 December 1997. From 1998 he served in the Life Guards Brigade (''Livgardesbrigaden''), where he was promoted to captain the same year. In the mid-2000s, he served as a major and commander of the Life company in the Life Guards in Kungsängen. Linköping
Linköping () is a city in southern Sweden, with around 105,000 inhabitants as of 2021. It is the seat of Linköping Municipality and the capital of Östergötland County. Major General Laura Maria Swaan Wrede, née ''Swaan'' (born 16 August 1964) is a Swedish Army officer. She currently serves as the Chief of Home Guard appointed on 30 September 2022. She previously served as regimental commander of the Life Guards between 2017 and 2020 (she was the first female commander of the Life Guards) and as the Deputy Chief of Army from 2020 to 2022. Career Swaan Wrede did her military service in Luleå Anti-Aircraft Regiment (Lv 7) in Luleå, where she trained to shoot down aircraft with different weapons systems: Bofors 40 mm L/60 gun, RBS 70 and the MIM-23 Hawk. Swaan Wrede was commissioned as an officer in the Swedish Army in 1987. The Swedish Armed Forces International Service Medal ( sv, Försvarsmaktens medalj för internationella insatser, FMintBM) is a Swedish reward medal instituted by the Swedish Armed Forces in 1991. The medal regulations has been revised twice, in 1994 and 2012. The medal is awarded after at least 30 days of international service. Swedish Armed Forces Basic Training Medal ( sv, Försvarsmaktens grundutbildningsmedalj, FMGUSM), previously the Swedish Armed Forces Conscript Medal ( sv, Försvarsmaktens värnpliktsmedalj, FMvplSM) is a Swedish reward medal instituted by the Swedish Armed Forces and was awarded to conscripts. History The medal was instituted on 16 August 2002 by the Supreme Commander's letter 16991:74739. When drafting for conscription ended in 2010, the medal became dormant on 30 June. When conscription service was renewed in 2016, the medal was reinstated under a new name, and also allowed for those who ended conscription in 2011. Major (Maj) ( sv, Major, Mj) is a field grade military officer rank in the Swedish Armed Forces, above the rank of captain and below the rank of lieutenant colonel. It is equivalent to the naval rank of lieutenant commander in the Swedish Navy.
