Bitola
Bitola (; mk, Битола ) is a city in the southwestern part of North Macedonia. It is located in the southern part of the Pelagonia valley, surrounded by the Baba, Nidže, and Kajmakčalan mountain ranges, north of the Medžitlija-Níki border crossing with Greece. GRK Ohrid ( mk, ГРК Охрид) is a handball club from Ohrid, North Macedonia. They compete in the domestic Macedonian Handball Super League. History GRK Ohrid was founded in 2011 in Ohrid. In the first 2 seasons, they competed in the First Macedonian Handball League. The 2013-14 season was their first season in Macedonian Handball Super League, when they finished on 8th position. The 60s were very successful, winning 4 championships starting in 1960 until the last one in 1969. The club ended up winning three more titles in the 70s. In the 80s, the 1981 season was the last winning season, capturing their 8th Macedonian league title. RK Metalurg Skopje ( mk, РК Металург Скопје) is a Macedonian handball club based in Skopje. They compete in the domestic Macedonian Handball Super League and EHF European League. History The club was founded in 1971 under patronage of the Skopje steel industry. There, an idea was born to form a team composed of employees that worked in the nearby steel mill. Nikola Bogdanovski accepted the idea after it was reviewed by the board of directors. Thus, RK Metalurg was created. The same concept realized by Bogdanovski continues to live today. At the time, the club didn't even think of playing in any of the European competitions, because they played their best not to be relegated from the first league. GRK Tikvesh ( mk, ГРК Тиквеш), formerly known as GRK Lozari, is a handball club from Kavadarci, North Macedonia. Tikves is a member of the VIP Super league. History The Tikvesh Club was established in 1955 by the Tikvesh Sports Association. The first coach was Lazar Lalkov, the initiators of the formation of the club besides Lalkov were also Gjoko Mukaetov and Dobre Stavrov, founders of the handball game in Kavadarci. Tikvesh played their first season in the 1955 Championship when they finished second behind Rabotnichki. The Macedonian national handball team is the national handball team of North Macedonia. The team is run by the Macedonian Handball Federation, the governing body of handball in North Macedonia. Prior to joining the International Handball Federation in 1991 as an independent country, North Macedonia was represented within the Yugoslavia men's national handball team. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team.
