Steel River Blues
''Steel River Blues'' is a British television drama series, created by Patrick Harbinson, that was first broadcast in September 2004 on ITV. Produced by Ken Horn, the series follows the working and private lives of a group of firefighters, known as Blue Watch, who are based in Middlesbrough. Critics were quick to dub the series "Middlesbrough's Burning" or "Teesside's Burning", after the popular fire-fighting drama that preceded it, '' London's Burning'', yet there were very few similarities between the two, apart from them being about the business of firefighting. Like its predecessor, ''Steel River Blues'' was an ensemble drama without any single starring part, though perhaps the best-known actor was Daniel Casey, who was previously a co-star in ''Midsomer Murders''. Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. It is the namesake and main town of its local borough council area. Until the early 1800s, the area was rural farming land. By 1830, a new industrial town and port started to be developed, driven by the coal and later ironworks. Graeme Harper
Graeme Harper (born 11 March 1945) is a British television director. He is best known for his work on the science-fiction series '' Doctor Who'', for which he is the only person to have directed episodes of both the original run (1963–89) and revived run (2005–) of the programme. Charlie Fletcher
Charlie Fletcher (born 1960) is a British screenwriter and author. His works include the children's novel, '' Stoneheart''. Biography After studying English Literature at university, Fletcher began his career in the film business and then progressed to the BBC where he worked in film editing. He then went to California where he became a screenwriter, having been awarded a Warner Brothers Fellowship in Screenwriting at USC School of Cinema and TV. He wrote screenplays for TriStar, MGM, Paramount and Warner Bros. among others. Kelly Wenham (born 28 November 1983) is an English actress, director, screenwriter and comedian. Life and career Wenham was born in Stockport. Her early career was spent in modelling, before answering a casting call for a bit part in '' Always and Everyone''.
