Steel City (album)
''Steel City'' or ''Dein Perry's Steel City'' is a soundtrack by New Zealand-born artist Tim Finn which was released in 1998 on Columbia Records/Sony Records. Finn has been a member of Split Enz, Crowded House and Finn Brothers. The soundtrack, was used for ''Steel City'', Sydney Theatre Company's tap dance production, created by Australian choreographer, Dein Perry, with all tracks written or co-written by Finn. Finn co-wrote "Drop Out" and "Road Trip" with Marie Azcona, his wife; he co-wrote "Where I Live" with Mike Chunn, a former Split Enz bandmate. For the work Finn used the Steel City Band and additional musicians. The show's run premiered on 3 January 1998 at Sydney Casino's Star City Showroom with Finn as music director. Tim Finn
Brian Timothy Finn (born 25 June 1952) is a New Zealand singer and musician. His musical career includes forming 1970s and 1980s New Zealand rock group Split Enz, a number of solo albums, temporary membership in his brother Neil's band Crowded House and joint efforts with Neil Finn as the Finn Brothers. Early life Brian Timothy Finn was born in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, weighing 10 pounds at birth, to parents Richard and Mary. At the age of 13, he went to Sacred Heart College, Auckland, a Catholic boarding school, on a scholarship. He has two sisters, and one younger brother Neil Finn. Sydney Theatre Company (STC) is an Australian theatre company based in Sydney, New South Wales. The company performs in The Wharf Theatre at Dawes Point in The Rocks area of Sydney, as well as the Roslyn Packer Theatre (formerly Sydney Theatre) and the Sydney Opera House Drama Theatre. History Sydney Theatre Company was formed in December 1978, following the closure of The Old Tote Theatre Company the month before. Mike Chunn
Jonathan Michael Chunn (born 8 June 1952 in London) is a former member of the New Zealand bands Split Enz and Citizen Band. He performed alongside his brother Geoff Chunn in both bands. His musical performing career was cut short due to agoraphobia. Chunn spent eleven years as Director of New Zealand operations for the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA), retiring from the role at the end of October 2003. He is currently CEO of Play It Strange Trust, which encourages children to try songwriting, and which he founded in April 2004. He has published several books, including the Split Enz biography ''Stranger Than Fiction''. In the 2002 Queen's Birthday and Golden Jubilee Honours, Chunn was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to music. Dein Perry
Dein Perry is an Australian tap dancer. He is founder of the recurrent tap dance production 'Tap Dogs'. His film credits include work done on the Australian movie Bootmen, as well as choreographic work on Happy Feet 2. Early life and career Perry grew up in Newcastle. He received dance lessons from the age of four. He left school at the age of sixteen to work as a Fitter and Turner, before moving to Sydney a year later to pursue dance Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony Perry choreographed the tap dance segment "Eternity" for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony. Finn Brothers
The Finn Brothers are a New Zealand musical duo consisting of brothers Neil and Tim Finn. In June 1993 both members were awarded the OBE for their contribution to music. The two brothers began making music together at a young age; later, when Neil was 18, he was invited to join older brother Tim in Split Enz. Neil would go on to write one of the band's biggest hits, " I Got You". Tim released his first solo album '' Escapade'' before leaving Split Enz, and the band folded soon after. Neil started his own group, Crowded House and subsequently recorded two solo albums after Crowded House split in 1996. He reformed Crowded House in 2007, releasing three albums since then.
