Alison Steadman (born 26 August 1946) is an English actress. She received the 1991 National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for the Mike Leigh film '' Life Is Sweet'' and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Actress for her role as Mari in the original production of ''The Rise and Fall of Little Voice''. In a 2007 Channel 4 poll, the ‘50 Greatest Actors’ voted for by other actors, she was ranked 42. Steadman made her professional stage debut in 1968 and went on to establish her career in Mike Leigh's 1970s TV plays ''Nuts in May'' (1976) and ''Abigail's Party'' (1977). Kelley Steadman
Kelley Steadman (born July 17, 1990) is an American retired ice hockey player, currently serving as an ice hockey development ambassador for Lightning Made, the community hockey department of the Tampa Bay Lightning. As a member of the United States' women's national team, she won two IIHF World Women's Championship gold medals, in 2011 and 2013. She played with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), Tornado Dmitrov of the Russian Women's Hockey League (RWHL; replaced by ZhHL in 2015), and the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; renamed PHF in 2021). Playing career Steadman attended secondary school at Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York. Steadman Vincent Sanford
Steadman Vincent Sanford (August 24, 1871 – September 15, 1945) was President of the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens from 1932 until 1935. He subsequently served as Chancellor of the University System of Georgia from 1935 until 1945. Early life, education and career Sanford was born in Covington, Georgia, in 1871. He enrolled at Mercer University at the age of fifteen and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1890. Upon graduation from Mercer, Sanford became the principal of the Male Academy in Marietta, Georgia (1890 to 1892), then served as principal of Marietta High School (1892–1903) and as superintendent of Marietta Public Schools (1897–1903). In 1903, Sanford came to the University as an English literature instructor. He was promoted to Adjunct Professor in 1907. Vera Steadman
Vera Steadman (June 23, 1900 – December 14, 1966) was an American film actress of the silent era. Steadman was born on June 23, 1900, in Monterey, California. Before she began working in films, Steadman was experienced as a swimmer, high diver, and classic dancer. Steadman appeared in more than 90 films between 1915 and 1941, in her first years appearing as one of the Sennett Bathing Beauties. She worked for Fox for four months before joining Universal, and she later made films for Christie Film Company. Her marriage to orchestra leader Jackie Taylor ended in divorce on June 14, 1923. On April 17, 1935, she married Martin Padway in Van Nuys. They were divorced on August 8, 1938. She married Joseph Milton Flynn in November, 1948, and they remained wed until her death. Royal Charles Steadman (July 23, 1875 – August 6, 1964) was a botanical illustrator and wax fruit modeler for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) who also developed a patented method of strengthening wax fruit with plaster on the interior. Education and personal life Royal Charles Steadman was born July 23, 1875, in Portland, Maine, to Alban Charles and Emma Frances Steadman. He had an older brother, Willie. His parents separated and by 1891 his father had remarried and moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Steadman studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, as well as at the Cowles Art School in the same city. He went on to study jewelry design at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence and then became a jewelry designer for a commercial firm, where he rose to head jewelry designer. Robert Steadman (born 1 April 1965) is a British composer of classical music who mostly works in a post-minimalist style but also writes lighter music, including musicals, and compositions for educational purposes. He also teaches, writes articles for music education journals, notably ''Classroom Music'', and has written several revision guides for GCSE Music and A-level Music Technology. Richard Steadman (June 4, 1937 – January 20, 2023) was a pioneering orthopedic surgeon and founder of The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute (SPRI) located in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Steadman revolutionized orthopaedic surgery; saved and advanced careers of many Olympic and professional sports champions, and helped recreational athletes stay physically active longer. For a time, he was a clinical professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, but was perhaps best known medically for his work in the area of microfracture surgery, and publicly for treating injured sports stars from around the world. Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Ray Steadman-Allen (18 September 1922 – 15 December 2014) was a British composer of choral and brass band music for the Salvation Army and for band competition. He was born in the Salvation Army 'Mother's Hospital', Clapton, while his Salvation Army Officer parents were living in the Horfield area of Bristol. When they were appointed to London in 1937, he obtained a job at International Headquarters as office boy to General Evangeline Booth, daughter of The Salvation Army's founder. In 1942 he enlisted in the Royal Navy. He was examined for a music diploma by Sir Granville Bantock who invited him to apply for a job in music after the war.
