Stay (Monika Linkytė Song)
"Stay", also known as "Stay – Čiūto tūto", is a song by Lithuanian singer Monika Linkytė, released on 14 February 2023. The song represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after winning , Lithuania's national selection for that year's Eurovision Song Contest. It peaked at number five in Linkytė's home country of Lithuania. Background and composition In press statements given out to Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT), Monika reported that she, along with Latvian songwriter Chris Noah, had written "Stay" during an unplanned writing session. According to Monika, she wanted to write about "how important it is to pause and come back to yourself." Some lines in the song relate to Lithuanian folk sutras, speaking about a yearning for hearing the voice of "our heart more and more." Monika Linkytė (born 3 June 1992) is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Vaidas Baumila with the song " This Time", placing 18th. She also represented Lithuania in the New Wave 2014 competition and was a finalist on season two of ''Lietuvos Balsas''. She will represent Lithuania again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song " Stay". Linkytė has previously attempted to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with "Stay" performed by Monika Linkytė. Lithuanian folk music includes romantic songs, wedding songs, as well as work songs and archaic war songs.
