Lithuania In The Eurovision Song Contest 2023
Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with "Stay" performed by Monika Linkytė. The Lithuanian broadcaster, (LRT), used the national selection ''2023'' to select their representative. In the second semi-final, Lithuania qualified for the final on 13 May. Monika Linkytė (born 3 June 1992) is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Vaidas Baumila with the song " This Time", placing 18th. She also represented Lithuania in the New Wave 2014 competition and was a finalist on season two of '' Lietuvos Balsas''. She will represent Lithuania again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Stay". Aistė Pilvelytė (born 27 July 1979) is a Lithuanian singer. Biography Pilvelytė was born to Stasė Pilvelienė and Algirdas Pilvelis. In 1986, she learned choral conducting and pop music at the Balys Dvarionas Music School in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius. By 1990, she appeared in various singing shows for children. She also sang in the groups Pagalvėlės and Exem. In 1995, she continued her singing lessons with Nijolė Maceikaitė. Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest (known in Lithuania as ''Eurovizijos dainų konkursas'') 22 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". The Roop
The Roop (stylised as THE ROOP) are a Lithuanian pop rock band from Vilnius. Formed in 2014, the group consists of lead vocalist Vaidotas Valiukevičius, percussionist Robertas Baranauskas and guitarist Mantas Banišauskas. The group has released three albums—''To Whom It May Concern'' in 2015, ''Ghosts'' in 2017 and ''Concrete Flower'' in 2022 –as well as the extended play ''Yes, I Do'' in 2018. Duncan de Moor (; born 11 April 1994), known professionally as Duncan Laurence, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. Stano (born Stanislav Stavitsky, russian: Станислав Ставицкий, lt, Stanislavas Stavickis; 25 November 1981) is a Russian-Lithuanian singer, songwriter, and author. He is the frontman of the musical group Delfinai. Stavickis has also written two novels, autobiographical ''Kiek kainuoja ilgesys'' (How Much Does Longing Cost, 2004), and ''Neįtikėtinos istorijos'' (Unbelievable Stories, 2008). Stavickis was born to a Russian mother and a Lithuanian father. He came to Lithuania in 1992 to study at the Vilnius Secondary School "Lietuvių namai" (now known as Vilnius lietuvių namai), designed for students of Lithuanian heritage from foreign countries.
