Stateline Solar
Desert Stateline Solar Facility is a 300 MWp (about 250 MWAC) utility-scale solar photovoltaic power station constructed by First Solar in San Bernardino County in California, USA. It is located at the base of Clark Mountain in California, across the state line from Primm, Nevada, and adjacent to the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility. The project uses approximately 3.2 million panels from First Solar, an amount similar to the 250 MWAC Moapa Southern Paiute Solar Project. The plant's first 150 megawatts (MW) came online in late 2015, and it entered full commercial operation in the third quarter of 2016. In September 2015, it was announced that Southern Company had purchased a controlling interest in the project. First Solar continues to operate the facility. Moapa Southern Paiute Solar Project
The Moapa Southern Paiute Solar Project is a 250 megawatt (MW AC) photovoltaic power plant located in Clark County, Nevada on the Moapa River lands of the Southern Paiute people. The Silver State South Solar Project is a 250 megawatt (MW AC) photovoltaic power plant located in Clark County, Nevada, and near the previously completed 50 MW AC Silver State North Solar Project and the 530 MW gas-fired Higgins Generating Station. Ivanpah Solar Power Facility
The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System is a concentrated solar thermal plant in the Mojave Desert. It is located at the base of Clark Mountain in California, across the state line from Primm, Nevada. The plant has a gross capacity of 392 megawatts (MW). It deploys 173,500 heliostats, each with two mirrors focusing solar energy on boilers located on three tall solar power towers. The first unit of the system was connected to the electrical grid in September 2013 for an initial synchronisation test. The facility formally opened on February 13, 2014. Primm, Nevada
Primm (formerly known as State Line) is an unincorporated community in Clark County, Nevada, United States, primarily notable for its position straddling Interstate 15 where it crosses the state border between California and Nevada. It sits on Ivanpah Dry Lake, which extends to the north and south of town. It was previously known by the name of State Line, but was renamed in 1996 to avoid confusion with Stateline in northern Nevada. It is named after the original developer of the town, Ernest Jay Primm. The community's economy is based on its three casinos (the Primm Valley Resorts), which attract gamblers from Southern California wanting to stop before reaching Las Vegas to the north, or as a last chance to gamble before leaving Nevada.
