State Road D.565 (Turkey)
D.565 is a long north–south state road running south from İğneada on the Black Sea to Izmir. The route is broken into two parts by the Sea of Marmara: a long section in East Thrace from İğneada to Tekirdağ and a section in Anatolia from Bandırma to Izmir. The gap is connected by a car ferry operating between the two port cities. The route is mostly a four lane highway except for the first section at its northern end. In two separate sections, the D.565 runs concurrently with two other state roads in East Thrace: with the D.020 between Poyralı and Pınarhisar and with the D.100 between Lüleburgaz and Büyükkarıştıran. İğneada
İğneada (Greek: Thynias) is a small town within the district of Demirköy in Turkey's Kırklareli Province. It lies on the Black Sea coast and is approximately south of the Mutludere river which forms the border with Bulgaria. Its population was 1,966 in 2010. The land is covered by mainly oak forests, typical flora of the Yıldız (Istranca) Mountains. Forestry, fishing and tourism are the main occupations of the town population. The İğneada Floodplain Forests National Park with its Lake Saka Nature Reserve Area is situated around the town. It harbors one of the few remaining floodplain forests in all of Europe, which is home to many different bird species. The second of Turkey's nuclear power plants is planned to be built in the area. Balıkesir () is a city in Turkey and is the capital city of Balıkesir Province. Balıkesir is located in the Marmara region of Turkey and has a population of 338,936. Gebze (,) is a district in Kocaeli Province, Turkey. It is situated 65 km (30 mi) southeast of Istanbul, on the Gulf of Izmit, the eastern arm of the Sea of Marmara. Karacabey
Karacabey is a town and district of Bursa Province in the Marmara Region of Turkey. It is located just west of the Simav River near its confluence with the Adirnaz River. District of Karacabey borders districts of Mudanya and Nilüfer from east, ones of Mustafakemalpaşa and Susurluk from south, one of Manyas from southwest and Bandırma from west. Susurluk
Susurluk is a small town and a district of Balıkesir Province in northwestern Turkey. It is famous for its production of soap and dairy products. The highway from İstanbul to İzmir passes through Susurluk. In Turkey Susurluk is known for its 'tost' (''susurluk tostu'') - a toasted cheese sandwich with tomato paste, and for its foamy ayran. İpsala
İpsala (, ) is a town and district of Edirne Province in northwestern Turkey. It is the location of one of the main border checkpoints between Greece and Turkey.
